At noon on June 6, hundreds of people in the capital were present at Hanoi station, waving flags and flowers to welcome officers and soldiers going to the North to prepare for the parade to celebrate National Day on September 2.
At noon on June 6, Hanoi train station was bustling with the sound of loudspeakers announcing train arrivals, footsteps, cheers and applause. The first trains carrying military and militia forces from Saigon station (HCMC) and Tam Ky station ( Quang Nam ) arrived in the capital, bringing 1,663 officers and soldiers to participate in mission A80 - the parade to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day on September 2.
Many people, veterans, youth union members and military forces of the capital were present from early morning to welcome the delegation.
People stood around the station area to welcome the Ministry of Defense parade.
The soldiers participating in the parade when arriving at Hanoi station were warmly welcomed by the people of the capital.
Firm handshakes, fresh flowers, bright smiles and proud eyes made the atmosphere more solemn and warm.
Senior Lieutenant Le Hoang Hiep (working at Division 9, Corps 4) received much attention from young people as he was a prominent face among the officers representing the "5 armies" at the parade to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South. Previously, he had caused a "fever" on social networks with the moment he stepped out of the car with great charisma.
“This is the first time I have participated in a parade mission at Ba Dinh Square. From the moment we received the order to move to Hanoi, everyone was aware that this was not only a mission, but also a great honor. When I stepped down to the train station and saw so many people welcoming me, I was truly moved. All the fatigue after more than a day on the train seemed to disappear,” Tuyet Lan (Southern Female Guerrilla Bloc) happily said.
Ngoc Nhi (Southern Female Guerrilla Bloc) smiled brightly after nearly 40 hours on the train. She shared: “After arriving in Hanoi, everyone will move to the assembly point according to the approved plan. From now until September 2, everyone will enter the phase of concentrated training, preliminary rehearsal and final rehearsal. Feeling the expectations of the people, we have more motivation to practice thoroughly, contributing to the success of the important ceremony.”
"Today, when I arrived at the train station, I saw people waving and students running to fan us and give us water, and my heart was warm. These were small actions but filled with love. It made us realize even more clearly our responsibility to practice seriously and thoroughly to be worthy of the trust and love of the people," Lieutenant Tran Thi Hong Van (26 years old, from Military Region 5) emotionally said.
Veterans and youth union members welcomed the parade, holding mini battery-powered fans towards the soldiers, helping to dispel the hot summer sun of Hanoi.
After arriving at Hanoi station, the forces moved to the designated assembly location to be arranged for food, accommodation, and living conditions, ready to prepare for training and performing tasks.
According to the plan, to serve the parade and march to celebrate the 80th National Day, the forces will practice in 3 phases: Phase 1 is basic training at school, phase 2 is concentrated training at the Ministry level, and phase 3 is field training in Hanoi. Phase 1 is expected to end on June 5 and move on to phase 2 with more rigorous training.
Smiles are always on the faces of the girls representing the Southern Female Guerrilla Bloc.
The parade greeted the people and prepared to return to the assembly point.
