Weather forecast for the next 10 days: Heavy rain in the North, ending widespread heat wave

In the evening and night of June 7, the mountainous and midland areas of the North will have scattered showers and thunderstorms, locally heavy rain with rainfall of 15-30mm, some places over 70mm. In the afternoon and evening of the same day, the South Central, Central Highlands and Southern regions will have showers and thunderstorms, locally heavy to very heavy rain with rainfall of 20-40mm, some places over 80mm.

Weather forecast for the next 10 days, after 2 hot days, the North will experience showers and thunderstorms to "cool off", ending the heat wave, with localized heavy rain.

On June 7-8, the area from Thanh Hoa to Phu Yen will be hot and sunny, with some places experiencing severe heat, with the highest temperature ranging from 35-37°C, and some places over 38°C. The Northern Delta and midlands will experience widespread heat, however the intensity will be milder than in the Central region, with the highest temperature ranging from 35-36°C, and some places over 36°C.

The above forecast temperature threshold and the actual outdoor temperature may differ from 2-4°C, or even higher, depending on the surface conditions such as concrete and asphalt.

This heat wave will not last long. From June 9, the heat wave in the plains and midlands of the North is likely to end. The weather in the North will change to scattered showers and thunderstorms, locally heavy rain from the night of June 8 to June 10, rain concentrated in the evening and at night. From June 11 to 16, this area will have showers and thunderstorms in some places in the evening and at night; sunny days, some places will be hot.

The heat wave in the area from Thanh Hoa to Phu Yen gradually eased from June 10, but heat waves still occurred locally.

From the night of June 8 to June 16, the Central Highlands and the South will maintain the weather pattern of scattered showers and thunderstorms in some places, scattered showers in the late afternoon and evening, and thunderstorms in some places. From June 9 to June 11, these areas will have rain, moderate rain, scattered thunderstorms in the afternoon and evening, and locally heavy rain.

Thunderstorms may produce tornadoes, lightning, hail and strong gusts of wind. Localized heavy rains may cause flash floods on small rivers and streams, landslides on steep slopes and flooding in low-lying areas.

The heat wave continues in Hanoi on June 8 with the highest temperature during the day commonly reaching 35°C, and at night the temperature drops sharply to around 28°C.

From June 9 to June 11, after the widespread heat wave ends, Hanoi's weather will turn to showers and thunderstorms, with daytime temperatures dropping slightly, with the highest being 33-34°C. At night, temperatures will not fluctuate much, with the lowest ranging from 27-28°C.
