To protect the rice crop and other crops, the District People's Committee has directed the agricultural sector and the District Irrigation Works Exploitation Enterprise to open all sluices to drain water into the Tra Ly and Red rivers, and out to sea along the Kien Giang river axis. The order is ready to operate the Lich Bai and An Quoc drainage pumping stations when major flooding occurs and not to drain water by gravity.

For winter-spring rice, it is necessary to find all measures to drain water in the fields, not letting the rice panicles be submerged in water. If they are collapsed or submerged in water, it is necessary to erect trees and tie them in bundles according to the tilt of the rice plants. It is necessary to regularly turn the rice roots to check for planthoppers and brown spot disease to proactively spray and control them in time. The rice area in the ripening stage needs to be urgently harvested when the weather is clear and the rice is immediately put in the dryer for the collapsed area to limit the germination of rice grains on the panicles. The rice area that is slightly collapsed or not collapsed should be harvested when 80-85% is ripe according to the motto "green at home is better than old in the field". Urgently harvest vegetable areas that have reached the harvest stage to sell, minimizing losses caused by weather.
