Arriving at Yen Bai ward today, our first impression is a new space. The fresh green color is not only brought by more than 61,800 newly planted trees in the period 2021 - 2025, bringing the ratio of public green space to over 10 m²/person, but also comes from the awareness of environmental protection in each citizen.
Movements such as “Green Sunday” are carried out regularly and effectively; 145 previous garbage points have been completely handled; the roads are always clean with garbage collection frequency 1-2 times per day. All together, they have built a “green lung”, bringing fresh air to the “heart” of the central urban area of the province.
The modern appearance of the ward is shaped by a synchronous and spacious infrastructure system. With a total investment of up to 4,954 billion VND in the period of 2020 - 2025, up to now 100% of the roads and alleys have been concreted and illuminated by a standard electric lighting system.
On that solid infrastructure, a “digital brain” has been formed. The ward’s Intelligent Monitoring and Operation Center (IOC) has become the core of modern governance.
All activities are operated based on data, transparently and effectively; 41.7% of administrative records are received online, more than 46,500 people use VNeID level 2 identification accounts and 601 security cameras monitor the entire area... are clear figures demonstrating a smart, safe and friendly urban area.
Investment in civilized urban areas has brought “sweet fruit”, which is the prosperity and happiness of the people. The average income per capita reaches 95 million VND/year and the ward is moving towards the goal of no more poor households by the end of 2025.
Cultural and spiritual life is increasingly improved, with 97% of families achieving the title of "Cultural Family"; more than 650 self-management models, clubs, happy residential groups... These are invisible threads that weave a united and affectionate community.
Discussing future orientations, Mr. Phung Tien Thanh, Chairman of Yen Bai Ward People's Committee shared: "The results achieved today are a solid foundation for the ward to continue to reach higher goals. We are determined to build Yen Bai Ward not only to become an administrative and political center but also a livable urban area, where every citizen can enjoy the best results from the development process. It is a "green - modern - smart" urban area and above all, a city of connection and happiness".
To realize that goal, in the coming time, Yen Bai ward will focus on a comprehensive, seamless strategy. First of all, review and adjust existing plans to ensure consistency and synchronization throughout the area after the merger. On that basis, the ward will prioritize investment and upgrading of main roads to enhance connectivity between areas, while resolutely handling areas at risk of landslides and flooding to ensure safety for people.
At the same time, the locality continues to enhance the application of digital technology in urban planning and management, promote inter-sectoral and inter-regional coordination mechanisms to promote overall efficiency and create common development momentum.
