
The Tri An Hydropower Plant Expansion Project was approved by the Prime Minister in the National Power Development Plan for the period 2021 - 2030, with a vision to 2050. The project is invested by EVN and directly managed by EVNPMB3, with a total investment of VND 3,965 billion, and an installed capacity of 2 units of 200 MW.
Capital for the project includes about 30% of the investor's own capital and about 70% of commercial loans from the German Reconstruction Bank (KfW) and the Joint Stock Commercial Bank for Investment and Development of Vietnam ( BIDV ).
Regarding progress, it is expected that Unit 1 will generate electricity in the third quarter of 2027; Unit 2 will generate electricity in the fourth quarter of 2027 and the entire project will be completed in the fourth quarter of 2027.
Mr. Pham Hong Phuong, Deputy General Director of EVN affirmed that the XL04-TAMR package is the largest and most important of the project with the main scope of work including the inlet channel, water intake gate, pressure pipeline, hydroelectric plant; discharge channel, connecting the plant to the existing power system and construction items serving the construction...
The contractor was selected through a national open bidding process. The value of the XL04-TAMR package is VND 1,451 billion, the contract implementation period is 960 days, in which the construction progress of Unit 1 is scheduled for September 30, 2027; Unit 2 is scheduled for power generation and the entire project is scheduled for December 31, 2027.
This is one of EVN's key projects to be implemented in 2025. The Group assigns the Power Project Management Board 3 and the contractor consortium to manage and construct, ensuring compliance with quality, safety and environmental requirements, focusing resources and equipment to accelerate progress, striving to complete the project according to the set plan.
The Project Management Board and the contractor consortium strive to start the project on the occasion of the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day September 2.
