Celebrating Vietnamese Teachers' Day November 20: Students' success is a "privilege" of the teaching profession

Minister of Education and Training Nguyen Kim Son awarded Certificates of Merit to teachers at the Ceremony to honor outstanding teachers and managers in 2023.

Speaking at the ceremony, Minister of Education and Training Nguyen Kim Son emphasized: “Each teacher honored today is a typical example, selected from more than 1.6 million teachers across the country. They come from remote areas of the country, have achieved many successes in teaching, have creative ways in implementing policies, guidelines and decisions of theeducation sector. No matter the circumstances, teachers always uphold their professional ethics, devote a lot of effort to the cause of educating people, creating noble values for society and for life. That is both determination and support for teachers to follow the profession and fulfill their mission well.”

Among the teachers who were honored, many have overcome difficulties, stuck to their schools and classes, volunteered to work in mountainous areas, remote areas, especially difficult areas, border areas, and islands, dedicating their entire youth to their beloved students. The teachers have devoted all their efforts and intelligence to the noble cause of "cultivating people", contributing to the cause of educational innovation of the country.

Currently, the education and training sector is implementing fundamental and comprehensive innovation for all levels of education from preschool to university, focusing on implementing extensive innovation for general education, specifically implementing the 2018 General Education Program. To successfully carry out this task, it is necessary to ensure the implementation of many different factors, in which the teaching force plays a decisive role in the success of the entire process. Therefore, developing the teaching staff is an important factor, a sustainable foundation, deciding all successes of education and training.

Looking at it positively, the innovation process is an opportunity for each teacher to change themselves, innovate, accumulate knowledge to successfully implement teaching work, equip knowledge, skills and develop necessary capacity for students. In that process, the biggest challenge and opportunity is to innovate themselves and overcome the limitations of each teacher.

The Minister of Education and Training said that the country's educational innovation begins with the Party's guidelines, with institutions, with policies, with directives and regulations, but teachers are the ones who implement innovation in practice; and with their experience and efforts, they will be the first to succeed in practice. Therefore, teachers also contribute to spreading what they have appreciated, what they have done, what they have accumulated - that is the innovation factor in practice, with reality, with the liveliness of experience. "Hopefully, 200 teachers with their successes will continue to spread in their departments, in their professional groups, in their schools, in their villages... Thus, we will have more spread of experience in practice", Minister Nguyen Kim Son emphasized.

On behalf of 200 outstanding teachers, teacher Nguyen Thanh Nhan, senior lecturer at the Faculty of Mathematics and Information Technology, Ho Chi Minh City University of Education, expressed his emotion and honor to be present at the ceremony. Teacher Nhan said that there were times when he felt sad and worried about his modest income, but overcoming difficulties and receiving successes from generations of students who have spread all over the world, teacher Nhan felt extremely happy. “I consider the success of my students as my own success, as if I were continuing my unfinished dreams. That is a priceless gift, a privilege that the teaching profession brings. From then on, I vowed to try harder, contributing to paving the way for generations of students, so that happiness will continue forever,” teacher Nguyen Thanh Nhan shared.
