Bac Lieu is a province on the Ca Mau peninsula, currently in the top group of provinces in the Mekong Delta and the whole country in shrimp farming, including industrial shrimp. The province is oriented to develop into a renewable energy center of the region and a center of the shrimp industry of the whole country in the direction of high technology. Ca Mau province has a very special location, being the sacred southernmost land of the Fatherland, located in the center of the sea of Southeast Asian countries; oriented to be built as a national center of energy and oil and gas services, an eco-tourism service center, a seafood processing center of the Mekong Delta. Both provinces develop marine economy, renewable energy, and are centers of production and export of renewable energy of the whole country.

The advantage of Ca Mau province (new) is to expand development space, create conditions for more synchronous planning and investment; create larger-scale economic zones, enhance competitiveness, attract better investment, exploit and maximize the potential advantages of localities for development such as: economy fully converging key sectors and fields (specifically: agriculture, industry, renewable energy development, clean energy, tourism, marine economy and synchronous infrastructure), thereby promoting comprehensive economic growth. In particular, developing the marine economy (with a coastline of 310 km and a large sea area of about 120,000 km2 ), agriculture, one of the largest aquatic product granaries in the country, circular and organic agriculture, following a large-scale economic model (rice cultivation area of about 312 thousand hectares; aquaculture area of about 450,900 hectares, shrimp output continues to lead the country at about 566,000 tons, export turnover reaching about 2.48 billion USD), ensuring raw materials for the food processing industry, avoiding fragmented, small-scale, spontaneous production, lack of planning; promoting the attraction of clean energy projects such as wind power, solar power, green hydro projects, green ammonia from renewable energy sources... towards electricity export.

Ca Mau province (new) with a large area and large population will become key economic centers, attracting domestic and foreign investors thanks to its large market and rich human resources on the basis of developing large industrial parks and clusters, concentrated urban areas, large-scale specialized areas, focusing on applying high technology to improve productivity and product quality, contributing to increasing the competitiveness of products in the market. The regions can take advantage of each other to develop evenly and sustainably, forming stronger economic centers, businesses and investors will have more confidence in the stability and development potential of the region, creating favorable conditions to attract investment projects in transport infrastructure, urban infrastructure, commercial infrastructure, services, creating connections and exchanges for socio-economic development between localities.

Concentrate resources to invest in socio-economic development in the locality, especially investing in a relatively comprehensive, modern, and synchronous transportation system, ensuring high connectivity such as: airports (Ca Mau airport); highways (both vertical axes including: Can Tho - Ca Mau highway, Ca Mau - Dat Mui highway and horizontal axes Ha Tien - Rach Gia - Bac Lieu highway); national highways (National Highway 1, National Highway 63, Quan Lo - Phung Hiep, Ho Chi Minh road, Nam Song Hau road, Southern coastal corridor road); coastal roads (passing through Bac Lieu and Ca Mau); seaports (Hon Khoai and bridges connecting Hon Khoai island); infrastructure investment to promote the advantages of the province's marine economic centers such as: Ganh Hao, Song Doc, Cai Doi Vam, Khanh Hoi, etc.

The merger also brings positive changes in the social field, helping to reduce the differentiation and development gap between regions in terms of living standards, income and development opportunities; the quality of public services is improved, contributing to better serving the people.

With the consensus and determination of the entire political system and people, along with its existing potential, Ca Mau province (new) promises to create a strong breakthrough, becoming a dynamic and prosperous socio-economic center in the Mekong Delta./.
