Lam Dong: Improving knowledge of food safety at boarding schools

On November 1, the People's Committee of Lam Vien Ward - Da Lat, Lam Dong Province, organized a training course on food safety at collective kitchens in educational institutions in the area.

More than 400 people from educational institutions that organize boarding meals at schools in Lam Vien ward - Da Lat attended the training, including principals and owners of independent preschools; school leaders in charge of collective kitchens; head chefs and people directly involved in cooking, dividing meals, and having direct contact with food in collective kitchens; accounting and medical staff, along with leaders and specialists in charge of education, training, and health in the ward.

The training course was disseminated by management leaders and experts on contents such as implementation and guidance on regulations on food safety in collective kitchens in education; food safety in collective kitchens in educational institutions; a number of legal documents and inter-sectoral circulars on health and education and training on food safety.

Especially topics on basic scientific knowledge lessons on food safety; measures to ensure food safety; nutrition and food safety; communication skills.

More than 400 people attended the training course.

Through training, the aim is to increase the dissemination of legal regulations on food safety and provide knowledge and practical skills on food hygiene and safety for school principals, accountants, and school health workers at educational institutions with boarding schools in the ward. At the same time, provide guidance on food safety in collective kitchens in educational institutions; focus on the selection, use, processing and preservation of safe food, contributing to ensuring health, meeting nutritional needs, supporting activities, learning, physical and mental development of students according to age.
