According to Ms. Nguyen Hang Ni, Deputy Head of the Professional Department of Ca Mau Provincial Library, closely following the rules and regulations of the Organizing Committee, the Ca Mau Provincial Library delegation participated in the Festival with 4 competitions including: introducing the team, introducing books, introducing innovative models and a talent competition. The team introduction section included drawings about the land and people of Ca Mau; tourist destinations, cultural and social works, about the activities of the Provincial Library as well as the participants of the festival. The talent competition section was the performance "The Country is Full of Joy" (Musician: Hoang Ha, Director: Ngoc Hien, Choreographer: Phuc Tuan) which was very carefully prepared. And the highlight of the Ca Mau delegation focused on the introduction of books and introducing models and initiatives.
The book selected for introduction is titled: “The Great Victory of Spring 1975 - The Convergence of the Strength of the Vietnamese People” (People's Army Publishing House, 2015), 384 pages thick, 14.5 x 20.5 cm in size. The content is divided into three parts, introduced by propagandists and librarians, highlighting the main contents: “The leadership of the Party - The decisive factor in converging the strength of the nation, creating the Great Victory of Spring 1975”, “The strength of the nation in the Great Victory of Spring 1975” and “The Great Victory of Spring 1975 - Historical value and contemporary significance”.
“This is a really useful document for readers to understand more about historical events that took place in each period from 1945 to the present. The book is carefully compiled, scientifically , concisely, and succinctly in chronological order, easy to follow and remember, helping readers love Vietnamese history more and appreciate the values of independence and freedom that our ancestors and heroes sacrificed to bring,” said Ms. Hang Ni.
In the introduction of the model and initiative, the Provincial Library chose to introduce the form of launching a reading room connecting the local economic development model. Mr. Nguyen Thanh Binh, Director of the Ca Mau Provincial Library, said: “The Library has signed a memorandum of understanding "On the implementation of coordination work on the Project to develop reading culture in the community, integrated with agricultural extension activities in 2024-2025" with the Agricultural Extension Center since 2024 and over time, this activity has brought many practical results. The Library and the Agricultural Extension Center directly provide knowledge advice, help people access documents conveniently and quickly, spread good books, technical documents close to local climate and soil conditions. At the same time, create conditions for people to directly share opinions, exchange about the content they have read and discuss how to apply knowledge to farming and production practices... helping to increasingly improve household income".
"Reading books combined with agricultural extension instructions not only helps improve capacity but also helps develop creative thinking and apply scientific and technological advances. At the same time, the Library also combines services for students on topics of study, entertainment, and local traditional education... This is a model with practical significance, promoting reading culture and is an activity that attracts and gathers people, generations, and youth union members into a reading environment, arousing a passion for reading, forming habits, awareness of self-study, and lifelong learning..." Mr. Nguyen Thanh Binh confided.
National Library Staff Festival to promote reading culture and introduce books - Celebrating major holidays and important historical events of the country in 2025 with the theme "National Epic" organized by the Ministry of Culture - Sports and Tourism in coordination with the People's Committee of Dak Lak province.
The festival took place at the Dak Lak Provincial Cultural and Tourism Center from May 26-30, with the participation of 33 delegations with more than 1,000 delegates representing more than 10,000 people working in libraries nationwide.
