According to the health sector, malaria comes from many causes. In particular, places with tropical monsoon climates, especially places with high temperatures and humidity, create favorable conditions for Anopheles mosquitoes to breed and thrive. Areas near forests, rivers, lakes or brackish coastal areas are often at higher risk. Low educational and socio -economic levels, lack of knowledge about malaria and preventive measures.

Malaria is often considered an important public health issue, receiving attention and direction from the Provincial Party Committee, Provincial People's Committee, Department of Health and local authorities. This creates favorable conditions for the implementation of programs and resources for malaria prevention and control.

Dipping mosquito nets, blankets, and mosquito nets... in mosquito repellents according to medical instructions to prevent the access of Anopheles mosquitoes is one of many solutions that have been and are being applied.

Dipping mosquito nets, blankets, and mosquito nets... in mosquito repellents according to medical instructions to prevent the access of Anopheles mosquitoes is one of many solutions that have been and are being applied.

Dr. Tran Hien Khoa, Director of the Provincial Center for Disease Control, said that in order to proactively prevent malaria in the community, the local preventive health network has actively implemented many solutions. In particular, focusing on epidemiological investigation - malaria insects, detecting cases, treating parasites spreading in the community; implementing other preventive measures, such as treating mosquito nets with mosquito-killing chemicals in high-risk areas, improving diagnostic, treatment and testing skills for grassroots levels. Along with that, the health sector in localities proactively monitors the area, conducts epidemiological surveillance, especially in communes and wards with high population movements... The province promotes healtheducation and communication activities on disease prevention in many forms to residential areas such as: hanging banners, slogans, distributing leaflets... thereby helping people change their awareness and proactively prevent diseases.

Nowadays, with many advances in medicine, malaria is no longer as worrying as it was many years ago. However, people with malaria can be in danger of their health if not treated properly. Of concern, pregnant women with malaria are prone to miscarriage, stillbirth, premature birth or complications during childbirth...

Dr. Tran Hien Khoa said that although the disease has been eliminated and no domestic cases have been recorded, there are still many risks. In particular, Ca Mau has a wide sea border, attracting many workers from other provinces to work and live, especially in coastal areas. The movement of people from malaria-endemic areas or from abroad can carry malaria parasites, increasing the risk of re-invasion of the disease.

Along with that, although people's awareness of malaria has been raised, there is still a state of subjectivity and negligence in implementing personal disease prevention measures and environmental hygiene. In some remote areas, people may have difficulty accessing medical services for timely diagnosis and treatment when having suspected symptoms.

In addition, human, financial and material resources for malaria control may be limited. The emergence and spread of drug-resistant malaria parasites is a potential concern, which could reduce the effectiveness of treatment. Resistance to insecticides in mosquitoes is also a challenge.

Therefore, to maintain the achievements in malaria elimination, the local health sector needs certain support. This includes providing specialized training for provincial and district health workers on monitoring, investigating and handling malaria outbreaks and recurrences; organizing training courses to improve blood smear examination skills, using rapid tests and other modern testing techniques; providing information and guidance on new mosquito-killing chemicals, effective residual spraying and larval treatment methods; supporting necessary materials and equipment for monitoring (microscopes, rapid tests, testing chemicals), vector control (injected mosquito nets, residual spraying chemicals, sprayers)...
