On the afternoon of June 9, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs organized an international workshop "Ho Chi Minh Cultural Space at Vietnamese Representative Agencies Abroad".
This is an opportunity for delegates to exchange experiences and initiatives to effectively build the Ho Chi Minh space model at Vietnamese representative agencies abroad, through which friends and people around the world can better understand President Ho Chi Minh, the country and people of Vietnam.
In Session 1 of the Workshop, with the theme "Spreading President Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and style abroad through intangible forms", delegates presented contents from practical implementation to innovative measures, creating intangible forms to honor President Ho Chi Minh abroad.
Speaking at the meeting, Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen The Ky, former member of the Party Central Committee, Vice Chairman of the Central Theoretical Council, Head of the Literary Theory and Criticism Department, presented the creative process of artists in creating intangible content to honor President Ho Chi Minh abroad.
According to Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen The Ky, President Ho Chi Minh is a noble symbol of the Vietnamese people. For a long time, President Ho Chi Minh has been an endless source of inspiration in literature and art not only in Vietnam but also abroad.
The United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) honored President Ho Chi Minh as "Vietnam's national liberation hero and outstanding cultural figure."
Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen The Ky said that through the research on the life of President Ho Chi Minh, he inspired his people and humanity with the desire for independence and freedom, to build a prosperous, happy, peaceful, independent and unified life.
That has shown that over the years, artists around the world have created many compositions about President Ho Chi Minh in music, cinema, literature and art... In particular, the music field has had many great works praising him. President Ho Chi Minh has become an endless source of inspiration for the nation.
Also at the meeting, with the presentation "Creating intangible forms suitable to the host country's culture in the work of honoring President Ho Chi Minh abroad", Ambassador Nguyen Van Thao affirmed that honoring President Ho Chi Minh is a form of promoting the spread of Vietnamese culture abroad.
In the coming time, representative agencies abroad can promote the construction of President Ho Chi Minh cultural space in the host country, standardize the space, and adapt it to the actual situation in the host country, to ensure solemnity, unity, clear transmission of messages and meaning.
In addition, the honoring activities also need to be promoted and coordinated in the host countries to be able to spread more strongly. Specifically, enriching the activities through organizing seminars, with the participation of overseas Vietnamese and students on the occasion of the country's anniversary.
According to the Ambassador, the work of honoring President Ho Chi Minh also needs to maximize financial resources and coordinate with all parties to implement the best action program.
Spreading cultural values to the world
Also at the meeting, with the presentation "Creating intangible forms through literature and art in honoring President Ho Chi Minh", Associate Professor, Doctor, musician Do Hong Quan, Chairman of the Vietnam Union of Literature and Arts Associations, said that 2025 marks the 135th anniversary of President Ho Chi Minh's birth and 114 years since he left to find a way to save the country.
Mr. Do Hong Quan said that it is necessary to continue promoting literary and artistic works to honor President Ho Chi Minh.
To enhance the creativity of artists in the field of creating many literary and artistic works, honoring and praising Ho Chi Minh's life and career and widely introducing them to international friends, according to Mr. Do Hong Quan, the following solutions are needed:
Firstly, the authorities need to regularly provide and share foreign information on the cultural and artistic fields to writers and artists nationwide.
Second , strengthen international exchanges between countries, organize art troupes and artists to exchange and gain practical experience, and exchange with colleagues.
Third , continue to respond to the literary and artistic creation movement on the topic "Studying and following Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and style", striving to create many good works about President Ho Chi Minh;
Fourth , it is necessary to develop a policy to order authors to write about President Ho Chi Minh for domestic and international authors;
Fifth, establish translation centers to promote literature and art abroad, focusing on works written about President Ho Chi Minh.
Mr. Do Hong Quan emphasized that these are conditions for artists to have the opportunity to create more works, bringing the image of President Ho Chi Minh closer to the international public.
Artworks about President Ho Chi Minh will help spread the cultural and spiritual values of Vietnam to international friends.
