On the evening of June 9, in Hanoi , Deputy Prime Minister Le Thanh Long attended and spoke at a solemn reception on the occasion of the National Day of the Russian Federation (June 12).
Expressing his joy and honor to attend the solemn reception on behalf of the Vietnamese Government on the occasion of the National Day of the Russian Federation, Deputy Prime Minister Le Thanh Long emphasized that this day every year is not only a time for the Russian people to look back and be proud of their national history and the country's development path, but also an opportunity for international friends to express their respect for Russia - a country with a very important role in the international arena, a Comprehensive, loyal and trustworthy Strategic Partner of Vietnam.
On behalf of the Government and people of Vietnam, the Deputy Prime Minister sent his sincere feelings and warmest congratulations to the Government and all people of the Russian Federation.
The year 2025 is not only associated with many important events for Vietnam and the Russian Federation but also an extremely meaningful milestone, marking 75 years of diplomatic relations between the two countries. The Deputy Prime Minister said that looking back over three-quarters of a century, we are happy and proud to see that the friendship and cooperation between the two countries have continuously developed in all fields.
Specifically, political and diplomatic relations have been increasingly consolidated with high trust, creating the basis and foundation for other areas of cooperation. Cooperation in economics-trade, energy-oil and gas, education-training, science, technology, defense-security has been consolidated and actively developed.
Deputy Prime Minister Le Thanh Long affirmed that the Party and State of Vietnam always attach importance to the long-standing traditional friendship and the framework of the Comprehensive Strategic Partnership between Vietnam and the Russian Federation, considering the Russian Federation one of the top priorities in foreign policy; wishing to promote substantive and effective cooperation with Russia in all fields, for the practical interests of the people of the two countries.
"We are pleased with the very positive results achieved by the two countries during the recent official visit to the Russian Federation by General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam To Lam, which is an important historical milestone, demonstrating the political determination of the two countries' senior leaders, and an important lever to bring the Vietnam-Russian Federation relationship to a new height, practically serving the development of both countries in the new era of cooperation," Deputy Prime Minister Le Thanh Long said.
With confidence in a bright future, the Deputy Prime Minister expressed his firm belief that the long-standing traditional friendship and comprehensive strategic partnership between Vietnam and the Russian Federation will continue to develop strongly, for the common prosperity of the people of the two countries, for peace, cooperation and development in the region and the world.
Reviewing the cooperation between the two countries, Russian Ambassador to Vietnam Gennady Bezdetko said that cooperation in the fields of oil and gas, industrial production and agriculture, and transportation is being expanded. The effective operation of key bilateral projects, namely the Vietsovpetro and Rusvietpetro Joint Ventures, the Gaz Thanh Dat Automobile Assembly Plant in Da Nang, the Vietnam-Russia Joint Venture Bank, etc., is still being ensured.
According to the approved plan, the project to build a Nuclear Science and Technology Center in Vietnam is gradually becoming a reality. Necessary support is being provided to the Vietnam-Russia Tropical Science and Technology Research Center - a modern mobile laboratory and a multi-purpose scientific research vessel named after Professor Gagarinskiy have been transferred to the Center for management and use.
Vietnam signed an Intergovernmental Agreement on transforming the AS Pushkin Russian Language Institute in Hanoi into a regional educational center, opening up opportunities for strengthening cooperation between the two countries in this field. Exchanges between universities of the two countries are being strengthened.
The Ambassador stressed that the potential for further deepening bilateral relations is truly endless, and the sole goal is to ensure prosperity and well-being for the people of both countries./.
