- Song Doc dried anchovy craft village
- Bustling craft village
- Prosperous craft village
After more than a century, the My Hoa tofu skin craft village is still burning bright all year round. This unique delicacy is made from pure soybeans. According to Ms. Le Thi Tu, 76 years old, the tofu skin production process includes steps such as soaking beans, peeling, grinding beans, stuffing beans..., boiling bean water in a pan, then skimming off the bean skin (also known as tofu skin), then drying it indoors in the wind, and the finished product is obtained.
Normally, for every 100 kg of raw soybeans, more than 40 kg of tofu of various types can be processed such as: large pieces of tofu, dried tofu, young tofu, salted tofu...
Currently, My Hoa tofu skin is available in all provinces and cities in the South. During the Lunar New Year, the craft village is always bustling and working at full capacity to serve consumer demand.
Although this job is hard, all the descendants in the village love and preserve the profession that their ancestors created. Mr. Tran Van Hien, a member of the Cooperative Group for producing bean curd in My Khanh 1 Hamlet, My Hoa Commune, said that the group has nearly 40 households working in the profession, with hundreds of workers, not only doing the job but also connecting the community, encouraging people to join hands to preserve the experience and knowledge of the traditional bean curd craft through many generations.
With 100 years of preservation and transmission, My Hoa Tofu Craft Village was recognized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism as a National Intangible Cultural Heritage on August 4, 2022.
Village workers skim tofu.
To get delicious bean curd skin, you have to dry it on a stick right in a frying pan until the cake is dry.
The craft village produces a variety of products, from large pieces of tofu skin, dried tofu skin, young tofu skin, and salted tofu skin.
My Hoa bean curd sheets, after being packaged, will be sold throughout the southern provinces and cities.
