Update gold price this afternoon June 4, 2025 in the world
At the time of trading at 3:30 p.m. on June 3, 2025 (Vietnam time), the world gold price recorded by Kitco was at 3,354.77 USD/ounce. Converted according to the USD exchange rate on the free market (26,230 VND/USD), the world gold price is equivalent to about 106.14 million VND/tael (excluding taxes and fees). Compared with the domestic SJC gold bar price on the same day (114.9-117.2 million VND/tael), the SJC gold price is currently about 11.06 million higher than the international gold price.
Gold prices this afternoon, June 4, 2025, remained stable as US employment data in April showed relatively strong growth, which has somewhat eased concerns about US-China trade relations as well as the global economic situation. Specifically, spot gold prices were stable at $3,351.49 per ounce, while US gold futures prices also remained at $3,375.
“We are seeing a return of investors looking for buying opportunities on dips,” said Kelvin Wong, senior market analyst at OANDA. “However, there are still many uncertainties, especially regarding trade relations between the US and China, as well as between the US and the European Union.”
Labor market data, specifically the number of open jobs in the US increased in April, although the number of layoffs also increased to a nine-month high. This shows that the labor market is somewhat weakened. Tim Waterer, chief market analyst at KCM Trade, said that the JOLTS (jobs report) data helped to ease some concerns about the negative impact of tariffs on the US economy, which kept demand for gold as a safe-haven asset from being affected too much.
In addition, the White House has indicated that President Donald Trump and Chinese President Xi Jinping are likely to hold talks this weekend to resolve trade disputes. Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi also stressed that the US needs to create the necessary conditions for bilateral relations to get back on the "right track."
Concerns about the global economy have increased after the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) warned of a sharper-than-expected economic downturn, with the Trump administration’s trade policies putting significant pressure on the US economy. According to Kelvin Wong, the OECD report will certainly be a factor supporting safe-haven demand for gold in the medium term.
Finally, Federal Reserve officials have emphasized their cautious stance, citing risks from trade tensions and economic uncertainty. Gold prices typically tend to rise during times of economic uncertainty.
Apart from gold, silver prices fell 0.3% to $34.40 an ounce, while platinum rose 0.3% to $1,076.86 and palladium fell 0.9% to $1,001.42.
