(NLĐO) - The Acting Chairman of the Quang Tri Provincial People's Committee visited, gave lucky money, and encouraged farmers to increase production and achieve many successes in the new year.
On February 1-2 (the 4th day of the Lunar New Year), Mr. Ha Sy Dong, Acting Chairman of the Quang Tri Provincial People's Committee, inspected the agricultural production situation for the 2024-2025 Winter-Spring crop in the province's rice-growing areas, including Trieu Phong and Hai Lang districts.
According to a report from the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development of Quang Tri province, the entire province has completed the planting of the 2024-2025 Winter-Spring rice crop with an estimated area of over 25,500 hectares (over 100% of the plan), 2,000 hectares of corn, 1,000 hectares of peanuts, 4,500 hectares of cassava, and more than 2,000 hectares of various vegetables. Rice and other crops are growing well, with no natural disasters or diseases occurring.
Leaders of Quang Tri province visited, encouraged, and gave lucky money to farmers in the fields.
Mr. Ha Sy Dong suggested that the agricultural sector coordinate with localities to direct specialized units and increase staff to support, guide, and encourage farmers to accelerate the planting of dryland crops according to the seasonal schedule, and to promptly care for and control pests and diseases affecting rice plants.
Currently, most rice and crop fields in Quang Tri province are developing well, with no natural disasters or disease outbreaks occurring.
Acknowledging and commending the efforts of all levels of government, localities, and the proactive approach of farmers on the first day of the new year, the Acting Chairman of the Quang Tri Provincial People's Committee expressed hope that in 2025, the agricultural sector will continue to have a bountiful and successful harvest.
On the occasion of the New Year, Acting Chairman of the Quang Tri Provincial People's Committee Ha Sy Dong visited, extended New Year greetings, and gave lucky money to farmers to encourage them to achieve many successes in the new year and contribute to the overall socio -economic development of the province.
To date, in Quang Tri province, over 5,000 hectares of rice fields utilize unmanned aerial vehicles (drones) for spraying herbicides and plant care products. In the future, this technology will continue to be applied to the care and control of pests and diseases in rice and other crops; nearly 1,000 hectares of rice fields are linked with businesses in the production and consumption of organic rice, VietGAP certified rice, and rice seeds.
