Lao Cai earns over 900 billion VND from tourism during the April 30-May 1 holiday

Of which, domestic tourists are 242,000, international tourists are 23,000. The cumulative number of the year is 4,800,000, reaching 48% of the 2025 plan.

Tourists still concentrate on key localities and tourist areas such as Sa Pa town, Lao Cai city, Bac Ha district, Bao Yen district and Bat Xat district.

According to the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Lao Cai province, during the 5-day holiday of April 30 - May 1 this year, tourism, cultural and sports activities in the province were carefully organized, ensuring safety for people and tourists.

During the holiday, guests stayed mainly on the evenings from May 1-3, the average room occupancy rate of the province was estimated at about 60-65% (in Sa Pa town alone, the room booking rate was mainly concentrated in the 3-5 star hotel segment, with an occupancy rate of about 95%, and at community tourism spots at about 75%).

Tourism service businesses have been proactive, well-prepared, ensuring service quality according to standards; there has been no overload at tourist areas and spots; room rates and basic services have been kept stable.

This is a positive signal, contributing to building and preserving the image and friendly and safe tourist destination of Lao Cai province.
