Dien Bien and Saint Petersburg city strengthen cooperation in information technology development

Appreciating the cooperation between Saint Petersburg city and Dien Bien province in recent times, Governor Alexander Dmitrievic affirmed that the results achieved in cooperation between the two localities in recent times have been opening up new development opportunities in tourism, trade,education and training for the two localities; thereby contributing to strengthening the comprehensive strategic cooperation between the Russian Federation and Vietnam.

Comrade Alexander Dmitrievic, Governor of Saint Petersburg, said: In the coming time, Saint Petersburg will send students, teachers, and veterans to visit Dien Bien province; the two sides will coordinate to research and build an information technology application center to implement digital transformation, use science and technology in the fields of transportation and environment towards building a green, environmentally friendly city; train students, especially young talents, and some information technology applications in the fields of AI, robot design, drones, etc.

On the same day, the Secretary of Dien Bien Provincial Party Committee attended the meeting on the ecosystem of major cities, within the framework of the 9th Neva International Environmental Forum.

At the forum, Provincial Party Secretary Tran Quoc Cuong delivered a speech on the topic "Reducing carbon emissions and developing environmentally friendly transportation".

Comrade Tran Quoc Cuong affirmed: In the coming time, Dien Bien province will continue to innovate, apply technology, industrial and agricultural production processes, use innovative equipment, apply technology, production processes in industry and agriculture, use equipment to minimize _CO2 emissions; strengthen control of CO2 emission sources from industrial, traffic, residential, construction, and agricultural activities; develop organic agriculture and smart agriculture; focus on forest development with the goal of increasing Dien Bien's forest coverage rate to 48% by 2023; encourage people to use environmentally friendly means of transport; limit forest fires and burning of agricultural by-products after harvest; develop electricity from clean energy sources, renewable energy such as wind power, solar power, and hydropower; Research and pilot energy saving and renewable energy solutions for public works, buildings, urban lighting systems, roads, traffic signals, industrial production facilities...
