Within the framework of the Red River Festival - Lao Cai 2025 taking place from November 18 to 24, 2025 and the 25th Vietnam - China International Trade Fair (Lao Cai). On November 19, Lao Cai province organized the "Conference to introduce mechanisms, policies, and investment attraction projects" to introduce the province's mechanisms, policies, and investment projects to partners from China and localities across the country.

Attending the event were representatives of the Director of the Hong Ha Investment Promotion Agency, Yunnan Province (China); leaders of the Departments of Industry and Trade and Finance of An Giang , Lai Chau, Quang Ngai, Dien Bien, Bac Ninh, Quang Tri, Thai Nguyen, Vinh Long, Lang Son, Son La, Tay Ninh, Phu Tho provinces and over 100 domestic and foreign enterprises, cooperatives and investors.
With 182 km of border, Lao Cai has a particularly important strategic position, being a "key international gateway on the Kunming - Lao Cai - Hanoi - Hai Phong - Quang Ninh Economic Corridor", convenient for connecting trade between Vietnam with ASEAN countries and the Southwest region of China, as well as with countries around the world through Hai Phong port.
The province also possesses abundant labor resources, rich natural resources, modern transport infrastructure and a transparent and favorable investment environment. Currently, Lao Cai has 1 economic zone and 7 industrial parks in operation. Of which, Lao Cai Border Gate Economic Zone is one of 8 national key border gate economic zones. In 2025, the province started construction of Tran Yen Industrial Park (phase 1) with Viglacera Corporation as the investor. According to the plan, by 2030, Lao Cai will have 2 new pairs of international border gates: Muong Khuong - Kieu Dau and Ban Vuoc - Pa Sa.

At the conference, businesses and investors discussed and shared many contents related to promoting growth, innovation, digital transformation and sustainable socio-economic development. In addition, the development orientation according to the model "One axis - Two poles - Three regions - Four pillars", focusing on industry, agriculture, tourism and border gate economy, aiming to build Lao Cai into a growth pole, a center connecting economic trade between Vietnam and the region.
Through the Conference "Introducing mechanisms, policies, and investment attraction projects" is an opportunity for all levels, sectors, localities, associations, enterprises, and investors of Lao Cai province (Vietnam) and Hong Ha district, Yunnan province (China) and other provinces to share, cooperate, and together turn potentials, strengths, goals, and ideas into reality, promote rapid and sustainable socio-economic development, contributing to strengthening Vietnam - China relations in the direction of deep, comprehensive, and substantive cooperation.
