Accordingly, Vietnam ranked first overall with 136 gold medals, 105 silver medals, and 114 bronze medals. Right behind was Thailand with 108 gold medals, 96 silver medals, and 108 bronze medals. Indonesia had 87 gold medals, 80 silver medals, and 109 bronze medals.
Host Cambodia ranked 4th overall with 81 gold medals, 74 silver medals, and 127 bronze medals. This is the most impressive achievement of the country of pagodas in the history of participating in the SEA Games.
Although the competitions have ended, the 32nd SEA Games is still highly anticipated with the closing ceremony taking place at 7pm on May 17 at Morodok Techo Stadium in Phnom Penh.
According to Mr. Vath Chamroeun, Secretary General of the 32nd SEA Games Organizing Committee (CAMSOC), the closing ceremony of the 32nd SEA Games, although smaller in scale than the opening ceremony, was still very grand and impressive.
Mr. Vath Chamroeun revealed that Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen is still the high-ranking host of this ceremony.
"We will bring sparkling, classy performances. The closing ceremony is smaller in scale than the opening ceremony, but it is great," affirmed the CAMSOC Secretary General.
According to research, there will be about 2000 artists performing in the closing ceremony of SEA Games 32.
The program structure of the closing ceremony will have some changes compared to the opening ceremony and many new performances will be added to create a difference.
Through this ceremony, Cambodia wants to introduce its traditional culture, country and people to friends in the region.
Cambodia believes the closing ceremony will bring many emotions and pride for the successful SEA Games in the land of pagodas.
Besides the artistic performances, at the end of the program, the Organizing Committee will hand over the hosting flag to Thailand, the country that will host the 33rd SEA Games in 2025.
