Du Yen Temple, also known as Mau Temple, is located in Bong Chau Thuong area, now in area 2, Chi Tien commune, Thanh Ba district, Phu Tho province. The relic was ranked as a national architectural and artistic relic by the Ministry of Culture and Information (now the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism) in 1993. Du Yen Temple, Chi Tien commune, worships female general Nguyen Thi Hanh - the leader of the vanguard of the Trung Sisters.
When it was first built, the temple was just a small shrine. After Mrs. Nguyen Thi Hanh passed away, she was granted royal titles by the Vietnamese feudal dynasties. There was a royal edict to posthumously confer on her the title of "Truyen Dang Nu Than"; King Le Hien Tong conferred her the title of "Quoc Mau Thanh Ky, Nha Ai Dai Vuong", King Le Chieu Thong conferred her the title of "Thanh Ky Nha Ai, On Hau Khoan Hong Dai Vuong", the Nguyen Dynasty conferred her the title of "Nhan Uyen Duc Bao Trung Hung Ngoc Loan Phuc Trau", and at the same time issued an edict for the people of Tien Chau village, Chi Tien commune to worship her with incense, the worship was recorded in the National Day ceremony and recorded in the general worship history of the whole country. The annual banquets are as follows: The first banquet is the Du Yen Temple Festival, held on the 15th day of the first lunar month: it is said that on this day, the female general once organized a military gathering; this is the great festival day - to pay tribute to Holy Mother Hanh Nuong . Second feast: February 15 (lunar calendar): is the birthday of the Holy Mother. Third feast: January 10 (lunar calendar): is the death anniversary of the Holy Mother.

In addition, there are also holidays during the year: New Year's Eve, Summer Festival (April 1st of the lunar calendar); Army Assembly Day (15th day of the eighth lunar month), Summer Festival (July 1st of the lunar calendar), Seal-folding Ceremony (December 22nd), New Moon and Full Moon Festival on the first and fifteenth days of the lunar calendar every month.
Every year, the Du Yen Temple Festival is solemnly held in both the ritual and festival parts. The ritual part is organized in five steps: water procession, bathing ceremony, announcement ceremony, palanquin procession, incense offering ceremony and worshiping the gods. The festival part is organized with many activities such as: rice cake pounding competition, art competition, to tom competition, cockfighting competition, women's volleyball competition, men's volleyball competition, chess competition combined with folk games.

Since February 2023, the People's Committee of Chi Tien commune has collected documents and built a dossier to propose the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism to include the Du Yen Temple Traditional Festival in the list of dossiers for ranking as national intangible cultural heritage. After researching and reviewing the dossier, on November 10, 2023, the Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism signed Decision No. 3428/QD-BVHTTDL recognizing the Du Yen Temple Festival, Chi Tien commune in the list of ranking as national intangible cultural heritage.
Mr. Nguyen Chi Thanh, Chairman of Thanh Ba District People's Committee, spoke at the reception ceremony: " Phu Tho is the cradle of Lac Viet culture, the gathering center of ancient Vietnamese people, the time when Hung Kings built Van Lang country. After thousands of years of history, this place still retains the mark of the early dawn of the nation's founding, as evidenced by the system of rich tangible and intangible cultural heritages. Thanh Ba is an indispensable part in preserving, maintaining and promoting those precious cultural values.
