Han Festival in Muong Trai Commune 2024

For 2 days (March 23 and 24), Muong Trai commune, Muong La district, held the 2024 Nang Han Festival. The festival attracted a large number of people and tourists to attend.

During the ceremony, the shaman offered incense at the Lady Han temple, with offerings of buffalo meat, rice wine, incense, flowers, fruits, betel and areca nuts... to perform the procedures of inviting the female general Lady Han and the gods to attend and receive the offerings from the people, praying for the village to be peaceful and the people to be warm, prosperous and healthy.

The festival took place with cultural activities, arts, and unique ethnic games, attracting the participation and encouragement of a large number of people and tourists, such as: boat rowing, crossbow shooting, stilt walking, blindfolded duck catching; display of booths introducing local agricultural products, culture, and cuisine.

The festival is held annually to preserve and promote traditional cultural values, promote unique cultural features; potential and strengths in tourism development of Muong Trai commune.
