(Fatherland) - On the afternoon of November 8, the Vietnam Culture - Tourism Festival and the Vietnam Tourism Promotion Program officially took place in Chongqing City, China. Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh attended the event.
This is an activity towards the 75th Anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and China and the "Vietnam-China Humanitarian Exchange Year" in 2025 - a milestone in the cooperative relationship between the two neighboring countries with a long history and close culture. The festival not only contributes to honoring the unique traditional cultural values of the two nations, but is also an opportunity for the people of the two countries to enhance mutual understanding through cultural, artistic and tourism exchange activities.
The opening of the Festival was a traditional musical instrument performance conducted by conductor Dong Quang Vinh.

Speaking at the event, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh emphasized that Vietnam and China are two close neighbors, mountains connected to mountains, rivers connected to rivers. Currently, China is Vietnam's largest trading partner and second largest export market, while Vietnam is China's fourth largest trading partner in the world. Tourism cooperation and visitor exchange between Vietnam and China are also developing positively, serving as an important foundation for trade and investment activities between the two countries.
Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh hopes that through this program, national tourism agencies, airlines, travel companies, and tourism service establishments of the two countries will exchange and achieve specific and practical cooperation programs and projects to contribute to bringing tourism cooperation between Vietnam and China to a new level.

Deputy Minister of Culture, Sports and Tourism Ho An Phong delivered the opening speech at the event.
Mr. Ma Zhen, Vice Chairman of Chongqing Municipal People's Committee, spoke at the event.
In order to enhance tourism exchanges and cooperation, improve the quality of tourism services, enhance tourism development cooperation between the two sides, and contribute to enhancing exchanges between the people of the two countries, the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism and the Chongqing Municipal Culture and Tourism Development Committee exchanged a tourism cooperation memorandum MOU, witnessed by Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and delegates from the two countries.
Deputy Director of Vietnam National Administration of Tourism Ha Van Sieu and Deputy Director of Chongqing Municipal Culture and Tourism Development Committee Mai Tuyet Bang exchanged the Memorandum of Cooperation.
Vietnamese and Chinese tourism businesses exchanged a Memorandum of Understanding on tourist exchange cooperation, witnessed by Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh and leaders of the two countries.
Immediately after the Memorandum of Understanding Ceremony, there was a Vietnam Tourism Introduction Program, where the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism introduced an overview of Vietnam's tourism destinations and products. Representatives of Vietnam Airlines shared about Vietnam Airlines' flight network and products for the Chinese market. Representatives of Vietnamese tourism businesses also introduced specific tourism products and services suitable for Chinese tourists.
Ms. Ngo Thi Lan Phuong, representative of Vietnam National Administration of Tourism, introduced an overview of Vietnam's tourism destinations and products.
Mr. Ha Van Sieu, Deputy Director of the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism, moderated the Q&A session with businesses and units operating in the Chinese tourism sector.
The final part was the Lucky Draw with special gifts from Vietnamese sponsors, with 2 first prizes, 2 second prizes and 2 third prizes awarded to lucky individuals from units and businesses operating in the Chinese tourism sector.

With nearly 300 businesses and units operating in the tourism sector of both countries, the event was a great success, contributing to promoting diplomatic relations, cultural exchange and boosting tourism development.
It can be affirmed that tourism cooperation between Vietnam and China has achieved certain results, but the potential and space of the Chinese and Vietnamese tourist markets are still very large. The presence of the Prime Minister at these two events is of special significance, a strong message to promote the cultural and tourism relations between Vietnam and China to develop more quickly and sustainably in the coming time./.
