Launching ceremony in response to National Voluntary Blood Donation Day

BTO-On the morning of April 3, the Provincial Voluntary Blood Donation Steering Committee coordinated with Binh Thuan Power Company to organize a launching ceremony to respond to the National Voluntary Blood Donation Day. Attending the event were Mr. Nguyen Minh - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Head of the Provincial Voluntary Blood Donation Steering Committee; representatives of relevant departments, agencies and more than 150 officers, employees and workers of Binh Thuan Power Company.

Speaking at the launching ceremony, Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh Nhan - President of the Provincial Red Cross Society, Deputy Head of the Provincial Steering Committee for Voluntary Blood Donation, affirmed: Donating blood to save people is a noble act, with profound humanitarian meaning. Blood is a special precious medicine to maintain human life, blood can only be donated from person to person and there is no substitute. Since 2000, the Prime Minister has signed Decision No. 43 on implementing the mobilization and encouraging people to donate blood voluntarily; at the same time, April 7 every year is the National Voluntary Blood Donation Day.

In Binh Thuan province, the voluntary blood donation movement in recent years has created a spread in the community, the number of blood donors is increasing. The average annual blood donation volume of the province is about 7,000 units of blood, basically meeting the needs of emergency and treatment for patients. In the blood donation movement, youth union members and volunteers are always the main force, taking the lead in donating blood to save lives, including officers, employees and workers of Binh Thuan Province Electricity Company who have actively responded and participated. These are truly shining examples for community life.

Practically responding to and celebrating the 25th anniversary of National Voluntary Blood Donation Day (April 7, 2000 - April 7, 2025), the representative of the Provincial Voluntary Blood Donation Steering Committee called on all sectors, levels, agencies, units, families and each individual in the province to actively register for voluntary blood donation, donate blood regularly and mobilize many people to participate in blood donation, for the health of the community and their own health, share drops of red blood to save patients' lives, contributing to the health sector to take better care of people's health. At the same time, participate in registering for "Donating tissues and organs - Giving is forever", responding to the call of Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh with the message "Opening the heart of compassion - Spreading love - Lighting up faith - Continuing hope - Sowing seeds of life".

Mr. Nguyen Minh - Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee, Head of the Provincial Steering Committee for Voluntary Blood Donation presented flowers to volunteers participating in blood donation at the Launching Ceremony.

Immediately after the launching ceremony, more than 150 cadres, employees, workers, and youth union members of Binh Thuan Power Company participated in blood donation. As a result, 151 units of blood were donated and 8 people registered to donate tissues and organs. This is also a social security activity organized annually to reach out to the community, raise awareness of the purpose and noble meaning of donating blood to save lives; encourage and motivate more people to participate in voluntary blood donation, to share drops of blood, contributing to bringing life to patients.
