Workers enthusiastically donate blood
For many workers and employees of LG Display Vietnam Hai Phong Co., Ltd., voluntary blood donation has become a habit. Ms. Tran Thi Thanh Anh (in Nguyen Giap commune, Hai Phong), an office worker of the company, shared: "Previously, when I was a student, I participated in voluntary blood donation at school 3 times, but when I went to work, I was a bit hesitant because the blood donation location was quite far. When working here, I can donate blood during the working day, at the company's dormitory and receive full salary during the blood donation period."
Nguyen Xuan Hiep, a production worker at LG Display Vietnam Hai Phong Co., Ltd., said that every time he donated blood at the company, he received a free health check-up and was provided with nutritious meals and timely rest after donating blood. He found that donating blood does not affect his health. He has donated blood 6 times at the company's dormitory.
Each time, to prepare for the successful blood donation day, in addition to making plans and assigning detailed tasks, the company's trade union organization proactively informs (in many languages such as Vietnamese, English, and Korean) to each factory and department, mobilizing a large number of officers and employees to participate in blood donation. This activity has gradually become a beautiful cultural feature in the enterprise, demonstrating social responsibility and profound humanity. Thanks to that, not only Vietnamese workers but also Korean experts enthusiastically participate.
"Determining that donating blood to save lives is a noble act and the time when blood shortages often occur is before Lunar New Year and in the summer, therefore, in 2025, the company's Board of Directors decided to organize a voluntary blood donation festival in January and August 2025," informed Mr. Dang Huy Hung, Director of External Relations, LG Display Vietnam Hai Phong Co., Ltd.
Through two blood donation programs in 2025, about 1,700 people registered to participate, including many foreign experts and workers. The organizing committee collected more than 1,400 units of blood, contributing to supporting treatment in hospitals in Hai Phong city.

For many businesses, choosing a location, organizing a launch program, arranging a registration area, screening, blood collection, blood typing, etc. are not easy tasks, especially in the context of a large number of registrants.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Hien, Deputy Director of the Hematology and Blood Transfusion Center of Viet Tiep Friendship Hospital, commented that through many times of coordination to receive donated blood here, LG Display Vietnam Hai Phong Co., Ltd. arranged appropriate time and instructed employees to register to donate blood by the hour to avoid congestion, so that people who registered to donate blood did not have to wait long.
The company also chose a spacious, airy, cool space, suitable for the needs of resting and recuperating blood donors. The company informed employees early to temporarily suspend the need to use the movie theater, entertainment, sports during the blood donation festival... This shows the company's careful, methodical preparation and attention to this activity.
The company also arranged backgrounds, hashtags (handheld slogans)... to help employees take check-in photos, spreading the meaning of blood donation among workers and employees.
LG Display Vietnam Hai Phong Co., Ltd. is also a sponsor of many social security programs in the city. According to Mr. Lee Doo Gwan, Deputy General Director of the company, from 2023 to now, the company has supported the examination and medicine distribution for more than 600 people in the eye health program deployed in Hai Phong and cataract surgery for 61 people. The smiles and thanks from the treated people, disadvantaged children... are the biggest motivation for the company to continue to maintain and spread these meaningful programs.
Mr. Bui Manh Phuc, Chairman of the City Red Cross Society, Deputy Head of the City's Steering Committee for Voluntary Blood Donation, assessed LG Display Vietnam Hai Phong Co., Ltd. as a pioneering and typical foreign-invested enterprise (FDI) in coordinating the organization of the blood donation festival. From this enterprise, the City's Steering Committee for Voluntary Blood Donation proposed a timely and widely disseminated honor and reward mechanism in the business community so that many other enterprises would be willing to accompany and join hands with the voluntary blood donation movement in particular and social security activities in the city in general.
