This is a practical activity to celebrate the country's important events, including the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification Day, the 135th birthday of President Ho Chi Minh , and towards the 80th anniversary of the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam and in response to the "Vietnam Sea and Islands Week" (from June 1-8 every year).
Attending the Festival were representatives of the Central Party building agencies in Da Nang, leaders of the City Party Committee, the City People's Committee, the Command of Coast Guard Region 2, along with a large number of officers and soldiers of armed forces units, art troupes, and people and fishermen from coastal areas of Da Nang city.

Speaking at the program, comrade Tran Thang Loi, member of the Standing Committee, Head of the Propaganda and Mass Mobilization Committee of the Da Nang City Party Committee emphasized: "Preserving and promoting the great national unity bloc, the close bond between the army and the people, between the forces on land and at sea is a key factor in building a solid national defense posture and people's security". The "Overcoming the waves to reach far" art festival is an activity to concretize the coordination program between the Da Nang City Party Committee and the Vietnam Coast Guard Command in implementing the mass mobilization work "Coast Guard accompanies fishermen" in the period of 2021-2025.
Through songs, dances, the program spreads love for the sea and islands, fosters national pride and determination to protect the sovereignty of the Fatherland.
The performances not only expressed the deep affection of the Party Committee, government and people of the city for the cadres and soldiers at the forefront, for the fishermen who work day and night at sea, but also honored the image of the resilient and indomitable marine soldiers, along with the simple but brave people - the "living milestones" in the middle of the ocean.

With the participation of the Naval Region 3 Command, the Military Command, and the Border Guard Command of Da Nang City, the program is an emotional artistic picture, expressing the spirit of "unanimity and unity", a solid great solidarity to protect the Fatherland from the sea.

On this occasion, the Organizing Committee presented 60 gifts (each gift worth 1 million VND) to poor fishing households in difficult circumstances in Da Nang city. Earlier, in the morning of the same day, the Organizing Committee representative also presented 30 gifts to 30 poor ethnic minority households in Hoa Bac commune, Hoa Vang district, Da Nang city. This is a practical gesture, a sharing of both material and spiritual things, adding motivation for fishermen to confidently go out to sea and stick to the sea.
“Today’s festival is not only a cultural and artistic event but also a call for civic responsibility in protecting sovereignty and the marine environment, joining hands to build a rich, civilized, resilient Da Nang city that can overcome all storms, towards a new era of development,” Comrade Tran Thang Loi affirmed.
