On the afternoon of October 31, the 13th Council Meeting of the Asian Network of Technology Universities took place in Hanoi. This event was hosted by Phenikaa University, bringing together leaders, scientists, and experts from universities in the Asia- Pacific region.
At the meeting, delegates agreed on many important orientations for the new phase of the network (2025-2027); focusing on improving the operational efficiency of Special Interest Groups (SIGs), promoting international publications and joint research cooperation among member schools, and expanding exchange programs, research internships and cross-border innovation.
The contents adopted at the Conference not only expand opportunities for academic cooperation in the region but also contribute to shaping a new vision for Asian technology higher education - towards connection, innovation and sustainable development.

Within the framework of the program, a memorandum of understanding (MOU) was awarded to new member schools of ATU-Net in 2025, along with a memorandum of understanding (MOU) signing ceremony between Phenikaa University (Vietnam) and Davao Oriental State University (Philippines).
These activities not only mark a new step forward in cooperation between ATU-Net member schools, but also demonstrate the spirit of expanding connections, promoting academic exchanges and bilateral research between Vietnam and regional countries.
Established in 2016 at the initiative of the University of Technology Malaysia (UTM), the Asia Technological Universities Network (ATU-Net) currently has 50 member universities from 13 countries in the Asia- Pacific region, including: Malaysia, Indonesia, Brunei, Thailand, Vietnam, Philippines, Japan, China, India, Bangladesh, Uzbekistan, Pakistan and Turkey. Joining ATU-Net since 2020, Phenikaa University is the only representative of Vietnam in this network.
With the mission of “Connecting - Cooperating - Contributing to global development in higher education and technological innovation”, the network aims to create a sustainable academic community, promote research initiatives, innovation and develop high-quality human resources.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Prof. Dr. Shafry Mohd Rahim - President of ATU-Net emphasized: ATU-Net is not only a meeting place but also an ecosystem of knowledge cooperation, where schools create, innovate, and together solve global challenges of higher education and technology.
2024 is considered a pivotal year for ATU-Net with many outstanding results. The network has sponsored 6 regional-scale programs, including: International Staff Week, Student Leader Forum, InvENT Innovation Conference, and Sustainability Tech Challenge.
The President of ATU-Net assessed that these activities have created a solid foundation for cooperation between technology universities, contributing to the formation of an innovative and cross-border academic community. In particular, Phenikaa University is one of the units that hosted and co-organized many typical activities, demonstrating Vietnam's active role in the process of internationalizing regional higher education.
