Mr. Vo Trung Manh - Chairman of Tu Mo Rong District People's Committee, Kon Tum Province, said that the telecommunications unit has completed the installation of 2 broadcasting stations in weak signal areas, helping people to conveniently communicate and protect ginseng gardens.
According to Mr. Manh, the two locations where the two broadcasting stations were installed are in Tu Tho village (Te Xang commune) and Dak Don village (Mang Ri commune), both in Tu Mo Rong district. Before the stations were installed, the signal in this area was very weak, making it difficult to contact by phone, even interrupted, affecting daily life, communication, and entertainment. People in the above area are promoting the cultivation of Ngoc Linh ginseng, and the lack of signal makes it impossible for them to install cameras to protect the garden.
To help people protect ginseng gardens in particular and facilitate their daily activities and communication, the District People's Committee has called on telecommunications units to install them. The installation has been completed for many months, helping the above areas have signal. People can live and work with peace of mind, installing cameras to protect ginseng gardens to prevent theft.
Installed 2 broadcasting stations to help the Xo Dang people install cameras to protect ginseng gardens in Tu Mo Rong district, Kon Tum province.
According to Mr. Vo Trung Manh, in addition to calling for the installation of broadcasting stations, the district has implemented projects to install security camera systems at important traffic points to serve control and investigation; directed communes to mobilize people to declare the area, quantity, location of planting, and planting links to establish legal records of planting areas.
Through the above measures, the district hopes to limit the theft of Ngoc Linh ginseng, helping people and businesses feel secure in getting rich under the forest canopy.
In fact, since the two broadcasting stations were installed, ginseng growers have quickly installed cameras to proactively protect and monitor their ginseng gardens.
Mr. A Phan (Dak Don village, Mang Ri commune, Tu Mo Rong district) said that his family grows more than 500 Ngoc Linh ginseng trees on Ngoc Linh mountain, in Dak Don village. Growing ginseng is difficult because the planting location is deep in the forest, the road is difficult, the signal is unstable, and there are many places with no signal. Therefore, the family has to be constantly on duty in the garden to protect the ginseng, which is time-consuming. Many times, the family wants to install a camera to manage the ginseng garden via phone, reducing the family's effort, but they are helpless because there is no signal.
"Recently, thanks to the local authorities calling for the installation of a broadcasting station, the ginseng growing area has strong signals. Therefore, last month, the family quickly went online to order 2 cameras worth 1 million VND to install in the garden. Now, sitting at home, through the phone, the family can monitor their ginseng garden, very convenient and highly effective. The family saves time going to the garden to watch. Thank you local authorities for helping people manage ginseng gardens with technology," said Mr. A Phan.
Mr. Nguyen Minh Tri - Vice Chairman of Mang Ri Commune People's Committee said that Ngoc Linh ginseng is a plant that the Xo Dang people hope will help them escape poverty and become rich. In the mountainous area of Dak Don village, the Xo Dang people grow a lot of Ngoc Linh ginseng, but they face difficulties because the mountainous area is deep and the waves do not cover it all. This has also made it difficult to manage the ginseng garden, it is impossible to install cameras for monitoring, and phone contact information with relatives is also interrupted.
Faced with this situation, the District People's Committee quickly called for the installation of a broadcasting station in Dak Don village to help people protect their gardens. Since the installation was completed, the signal in the area has become stronger. Many people have proactively purchased cameras to install in their gardens and on the main road.
Thanks to that, ginseng gardens are managed by technology, helping to protect them better. It is estimated that 7 households with economic conditions have installed cameras to protect their ginseng gardens. These 7 households installed cameras, but many other households also benefited through general monitoring and management.
"In the coming time, in Dak Don village, the commune will continue to call on and mobilize people to proactively spend resources to install cameras on the main roads leading to the ginseng garden that the wave has just reached, in order to manage strangers entering the garden right from the root and in the garden. The commune also recommends that people, through the camera, if they detect strangers entering the garden, committing theft, they need to keep and promptly report to the authorities to have a direction to catch them red-handed, as a basis for handling," said Mr. Tri.
