At the time of the incident, strong winds caused many roofs to be blown off, doors to collapse, some sections of fences and outbuildings of households to be severely damaged, and the power grid system was affected, causing local power outages for many hours.
According to Mr. Huynh Tuan Nhat, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Chien Dan commune, immediately after receiving information from the grassroots, the commune government mobilized militia, police and shock troops to the scene to support the people.
Authorities focused on clearing obstacles on Highway 40B that were blown down by the wind to ensure smooth traffic at night, while also coordinating with the Electricity Department to fix power outages at some affected locations.

Initial statistics show that Khanh Tho, Truong My and Khanh Thinh villages suffered the most damage. The tornado ripped off roofs of many houses, blew away tiles, toppled fences and affected many of the residents' living facilities.
In Truong My village alone, Ms. Tran Thi My Lan and Mr. Khuu Minh Dung were injured while trying to close the door against strong winds; both were taken to the hospital for emergency treatment that night.

Until early this morning, the functional forces of Chien Dan commune continued to inspect each area, review the extent of damage to compile reports and support people to overcome the consequences.
Local authorities said they will continue to encourage and help affected households stabilize their lives soon after this unexpected natural disaster.
