The scale of the initiative is estimated to eliminate 660 tons of plastic and reduce 6,000 tons of CO₂, equivalent to removing more than 37 million single-use plastic bottles per year. The transition to paper packaging across tens of millions of products is currently being rolled out across multiple retailers, with completion expected by the end of 2025. Prior to this transition, Logitech had already successfully eliminated 1,800 tons of packaging material by implementing design changes across various areas of its product packaging.
“Replacing plastic packaging is a major step toward our goal of eliminating single-use plastic from our product portfolio. This is about 90% complete and represents our largest packaging effort to date,” said Delphine Donné, General Manager, Personal Workspace Solutions at Logitech.

A dedicated study conducted in conjunction with GlobeScan’s Healthy & Sustainable Living report found that 61% of global consumers said they were interested in choosing recyclable packaging in the coming year. Single-use plastics and packaging made from multiple materials contribute to significant waste and confusion about recyclability. While Logitech has always advocated for 100% recycling of all materials, current waste management practices in many regions are not meeting expectations. So Logitech is taking the initiative to eliminate single-use plastics at the source.
“Consumers are increasingly looking for packaging that is less harmful to the environment. Using paper instead of single-use plastic also enhances the customer experience by making packaging easier to open, more attractive, and more useful,” said Bliss Buter-Thompson, Head of Packaging at Logitech.
Nearly 80% of a product’s carbon footprint can be determined during the design process, from material selection to performance. As part of its Design for the Environment initiative, Logitech has implemented packaging solutions to reduce its environmental impact, including an FSC-certified paper packaging program launched in 2019 and a policy to eliminate single-use plastics by 2021.
