She often combines impressionism and expressionism in her compositions.

Born and raised in Vietnam, Ly Tran has had the opportunity to live and travel in many countries and be exposed to many cultures. She started drawing as a young girl, but her passion for painting only really exploded in 2001 when she moved to Moscow to study industrial design.

In 2010, Ly Tran and her family moved to the United States to settle in the Washington DC area. Until 2020 - a year of turmoil for the whole world when the Covid-19 pandemic broke out, she looked back at the things she was passionate about and decided to end all her businesses to return to painting full-time.

The artist confided: “My artworks are inspired by anything that makes me emotional. From tangible subjects like flowers, landscapes, people, animals… to intangible concepts like balance, the cycle of life, love…”.

In 2021-2022, Ly Tran participated in dozens of exhibitions in Washington DC, Maryland, Virginia, Delaware, Philadelphia...

In addition to bringing her works to collectors, exhibitions also give her the opportunity to interact with many artists with different styles and mediums.

From here, she wanted to find a unique material and medium and thought of Vietnamese lacquer. In 2023, she decided to return to her homeland.
