Good character
There was a soldier/ That autumn/ Leaving from a poor thatched roof/ There was a soldier/ That spring/ Leaving from there and never returning... The lyrics of the song Red Flower Color resounded in the middle of July - the month of gratitude to heroes, martyrs, and wounded soldiers, making us emotional and nostalgic.
The war is long gone, the country today is developing strongly, integrating deeply and widely into the world. However, the pain and memories of war are always remembered. The places that were “plowed by bombs and bullets” are still present.
Tears still roll down the cheeks of grandmothers, mothers, aunts, and uncles when they remember their husbands, children, and siblings who sacrificed for the independence and freedom of the Fatherland, making us feel moved.
In our country, it is easy to see martyrs' cemeteries in every locality. From rural to urban areas, from lowlands to highlands, there are wounded soldiers, sick soldiers, Vietnamese Heroic Mothers, families with meritorious services to the revolution,...
The pain and loss of war are not far away, they are still imprinted on the bodies of many Uncle Ho soldiers. The wounds and damaged body parts left by bombs and bullets cause many sequelae and persistent pain, especially when the weather changes.
July comes, reminding people today of the history of the country. Besides the loss and pain, today's generation is very proud of the brave people who sacrificed for the country's independence and freedom. The sacrifices and great contributions of our ancestors are always engraved by the younger generation with deep "gratitude".
Youth Union members burn incense to pay tribute to heroes and martyrs
Every year, in July, all over Vietnam, "gratitude" becomes the peak period to organize activities and programs to celebrate War Invalids and Martyrs Day (July 27). Agencies, units, and organizations organize activities to visit the graves of martyrs; mobilize many social resources to visit and care for wounded and sick soldiers, Vietnamese Heroic Mothers, families with meritorious services, maintain and repair works of gratitude, build houses of gratitude, love,...
Not only with people who have contributed a lot to the country, but gratitude is always shown to parents, teachers, hometown, village and to those who have taken care of and helped you.
Talking about gratitude, Vietnamese people have a saying: If you want to cross the bridge, build a bridge, if you want your children to be good at reading, love their teachers. Or our people often say "Repay gratitude", "Eat the fruit, remember the person who planted the tree", "Drink water, remember the source".
How to express gratitude? It is not about repaying or having material values that is called gratitude. Gratitude is also about words, gestures and actions of love, care,... Gratitude is the origin of other foundations and good virtues of human beings to reach the values of truth - goodness - beauty. When there is always gratitude in people, they will live and behave with integrity, with love and meaning, with morality and civilization.
Gratitude is not only a narrow meaning between individuals or gratitude to repay gratitude, but also a dedication to the common cause of the country. In particular, for civil servants, gratitude is a model in life, an attitude, spirit and responsibility of dedication when working, caring for the people, building a developing agency and unit, and a clean and strong Party organization.
The Party members who hold high positions in the political system always have gratitude, which will guide them to go in the right direction, stay away from trivial temptations, and be a strong fortress against selfishness and pettiness. Gratitude will be the driving force to contribute and do many things for the common good.
A heart that sympathizes with the difficulties and misfortunes of others is a kind heart. A person who knows how to share the sadness and pain of others is a person rich in humane feelings. Broadly speaking, when people, especially civil servants, express their feelings, duties, ethics, and responsibilities to the community, society, country, and regime, it is also a noble expression of gratitude.
The opposite of gratitude is ingratitude. People often pass on to each other to condemn and mock ungrateful lifestyles, "pull up the plank after crossing the bridge", "bite the hand that feeds you", "eat apples and fence off fig trees", etc. If ingratitude exists among civil servants, it is even more dangerous, they cannot be the cadres that the people need.
In reality, there are also people who “repay kindness with ingratitude” by having a one-sided view and then attacking, betraying, and sabotaging the Fatherland, creating “ peaceful evolution”. Some people cling to some limitations and mistakes in specific cases to equate everything as bad and then condemn and sabotage the Party and the State.
It would be even sadder if among them, there were people who were taken care of by agencies, organizations, the Party, and the State, creating favorable conditions for them to work and develop. The degradation of political ideology, morality, lifestyle, and the manifestation of "self-evolution" and "self-transformation" in a significant number of Party members were identified and pointed out by our Party in Resolution 4 of the Central Committee (term XII).
The Resolution clearly states that “The degradation of political ideology, morality, and lifestyle leading to “self-evolution” and “self-transformation” is just a short, even very short, and unpredictable dangerous step that can lead to assisting or colluding with evil and hostile forces, betraying the ideals and revolutionary cause of the Party and the nation.”
Practice and build gratitude
Education on compassion, gratitude, and living with meaning and affection is no longer strange but has become familiar in the Party's resolutions and directives or, more commonly, in the requirements and instructions of public ethics. That dignity is an indispensable factor when planning and appointing personnel.
Our Party always pays attention to educating and inspiring, spreading gratitude in life because this is one of the basic values to guide and orient to become a good, moral person. One of the first lessons for children when going to school is to greet, say yes, and know how to say thank you when someone helps them.
During meetings and talks with Party members, General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong often reads verses from Kieu and poems filled with love and gratitude.
At the National Cultural Conference held in 2021, the General Secretary read two poems: "Chan Que" by poet Nguyen Binh and "Viet Bac" by poet To Huu. The gentle and profound lyrics of these two poems sent the message to the Party members to keep the "family tradition", keep the "countryside" and be grateful. Do not change your mind, do not forget the difficult and war-torn lands and the people who have taken care of, helped and sheltered you in times of difficulty and adversity,...
In the poem Viet Bac there is a passage:
I go to the far away city
Tall house, can you still see the mountains and hills?
Crowded city, still remember the village
The lights are on, do you remember the moon in the middle of the forest?
I go, I ask around
When will Viet Bac be more joyful?
General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong is also a shining example of practicing gratitude. Having worked in many different positions, until holding the position of Party leader, he has always clearly demonstrated his noble qualities. He is a talented leader, an excellent theorist, a shining example of dedication, wholeheartedness, and utmost dedication to serving the country and the people until his last breath, creating a strong shift in the work of Party building and rectification.
In addition to his revolutionary career and contributions to the country, the touching stories of General Secretary Nguyen Phu Trong have also been shared and reported by news agencies, newspapers and social networks a lot in the past few days. His behavior and concern for his hometown, neighbors, former teachers, classmates, subordinates, etc. have shown that he has a very simple, close, gentle, delicate lifestyle, full of love and gratitude. He is also a typical cultural figure, a shining example of noble qualities to follow and learn from, especially for Party members.
Living in life requires a heart. Having a good personality and a grateful heart will ease the loss, pain, and hurt. However, gratitude is not necessarily born naturally but is the training of each person and is educated, passed on, cherished, and preserved from generation to generation. Gratitude is a treasure, a good quality, contributing to the moral and cultural values of each person.
For civil servants, in addition to studying to improve their professional qualifications, they must always have gratitude. This is a required dignity, a necessary condition and must continue to be preserved and promoted. Only then can they do many good and useful things, contributing to the development and strength of agencies and units./.
This is a traditional activity of the Party Committee, government and people of Long An province to show gratitude to the heroic martyrs who sacrificed for the independence and freedom of the nation. |
