According to Global Times (China), the actor who played Sha Wujing - Liu Dagang passed away due to illness in Beijing on November 3, at the age of 78. The information was shared by Peking Opera artist Liu Bing on the social network Weibo on the afternoon of November 7.
Born in 1947, Liu Dagang was an actor of the National Peking Opera of China, specializing in "jing" roles - a type of painted-face role typical of Peking Opera.
