Mac Mini M4 'sold out' in Vietnam on pre-order opening day

The Mac Mini M4 began to be available for pre-order in Vietnam from December 3 on the online Apple Store, with delivery expected in 3-5 days. However, by early afternoon, many people said their delivery time had been pushed back to 3-5 weeks, a sign that the number of orders exceeded the inventory that could be supplied to the market this time. However, the above record only occurred at the Apple Store, while authorized dealers (AAR) in Vietnam have not yet had information about the order status for this product.

Mr. Nguyen Lac Huy, representative of CellphoneS, said that with more than 1,000 pre-orders on the system, the Mac Mini M4 recorded a much higher number of pre-orders than the previous generation and is expected to "sell out" on the opening day. The official opening time of this product at AARs is around the second or third week of December.

The Mac Mini M4 was introduced by Apple in late October with a significant change in design (much more compact than previous models). In addition, along with many other Mac computer lines, this device has also been upgraded with a basic RAM level of 16 GB instead of 8 GB to be compatible with tasks related to Apple Intelligence artificial intelligence. But the most surprising point of this device is the listed price of only 14.99 million VND for the standard version (16 GB/256 GB). Users with an account for theEducation program will have a lower price, about 12.5 million VND. The advantage in price and configuration has made the product a hot topic of discussion in many technology community groups in Vietnam since its launch.

Representatives of the FPT Shop system also assessed the strong appeal of the Mac Mini M4 and said that this product is suitable for customers who are students, freelancers or office workers. With 16 GB RAM, the product will meet the needs of normal tasks, not focusing on graphics processing or professional video editing. In addition to using the standard 256 GB memory, users can add storage capacity to the machine via an external SSD hard drive. On the internet, many videos of opening the machine show the ability to upgrade capacity by changing the SSD.

In addition to the standard version using the M4 chip, Apple also launched the Mac Mini M4 Pro model with integrated Thunderbolt 5 port - the latest standard with data transfer speed up to 120 Gb/s, twice as high as the old standard. With the Mac Mini M4, users will have the choice of 10-core CPU, 10-core GPU (default), while the M4 Pro has 14 CPU cores, 20 GPU cores, giving twice the power of the "younger brother" version.

Since the online Apple Store opened in August 2023, many Vietnamese users tend to order at this address even though there are not many incentives like retail agents. The main reason is that the goods are delivered directly to users at the right time and at absolutely no additional cost. In addition, there are some additional services such as free engraving of names/characters on the device for personalization, or many options to change the configuration as desired that are not always available at domestic stores.
