According to ETNews , the screen on the 20th anniversary iPhone will not only be curved to the left and right edges like many previous models, but will also wrap around the top and bottom, promising a seamless visual experience from every angle.
A report from Bloomberg also stated that Apple is planning to launch "an iPhone with a curved screen and no bezels whatsoever." The Information website also revealed that at least one iPhone model launching in 2027 will have a truly bezel-less display.

The new edge-to-edge display technology is seen as a major effort by Apple in developing the next generation of hardware for the iPhone. Apple is also reportedly developing OLED display drivers based on a 16nm process, instead of the current 28nm process.
Sources from the supply chain indicate that Apple will soon be in discussions with its OLED display partners, including LG Display and Samsung Display, about implementing advanced technologies in the 20th anniversary iPhone.
In addition, sources from ETNews indicate that Apple is also seriously considering integrating high-bandwidth mobile memory (HBM) into the iPhone lineup launching in 2027 – the year marking the 20th anniversary of the iPhone's release.
The use of HBM was an unprecedented major change for Apple. HBM requires stacking multiple layers of DRAM, which increases signal transmission speed and expands bandwidth. This allows the processor to access and process data much faster.
Typically, HBM connects to the application processor, but it can also connect to the GPU – a crucial component in AI processing. This is how Apple implements Unified Memory in its Macs using Apple Silicon chips.
Sources indicate that Apple is considering redesigning its processor chips to better support AI. They also suggest that a direct HBM connection to the GPU is highly probable.
Additionally, there are rumors that Apple will use an all-silicon cathode (without graphite), which would improve performance and battery life on the 20th anniversary iPhone. Since AI requires high performance and consumes a significant amount of power, any improvements in battery efficiency or new battery technology would contribute to making the iPhone a more powerful AI device.
However, tech experts believe Apple will face many technical challenges in implementing these ideas. With a four-sided curved screen design, the company will need to rearrange the placement of sensors, cameras, and speakers beneath the screen.
Designing a screen with four curved edges would make ensuring product durability very difficult. Additionally, Apple would need to address a host of software-related issues to ensure the hardware components function stably.
