This advanced video assistant referee (VAR) technology uses a “hawk-eye” system to detect as early as possible situations where the ball goes out of bounds, as well as the location of the foul inside or outside the penalty area, to provide more accurate notifications to referees.

This advanced VAR technology has just been applied by FIFA at the FIFA Club World Cup 2025. Previously, the above technology appeared in the Premier League in the 2024-25 season.
In addition to upgrading technology, the Thai-League 1 also increased the number of cameras serving VAR, from 4 to 6.
The two additional cameras added in the new season will include a reverse angle camera, to monitor actions off the ball: the behavior of other players on the field, in the technical area, the behavior of officials and team staff in the technical area.
The remaining camera added will perform close-up shooting tasks, helping the referee's review situations to be clearer and the images displayed sharper.
Not only Thai-League 1 (equivalent to V-League), Thai-League 2 (equivalent to Vietnam's First Division football) also applies VAR technology.
Madam Pang and Thai football upgraded VAR technology for the Thai-League with the aim of increasing the attractiveness of the tournament, while increasing transparency in refereeing.
Recently, Thai referees have been criticized for their impartiality in the matches they officiate in domestic tournaments.
