The Malaysian team has announced the list of players preparing for the match against Vietnam in the 2027 Asian Cup qualifiers. Although the match takes place on June 10, the Football Association of Malaysia (FAM) has decided to let the home team gather from May 18. The opponents of the Vietnamese team have more than 20 days to prepare for the match.

Coach Peter Cklamovski called up all his best players. Sergio Aguero and Dominic Tan were both named. These were the two stars that coach Kim Sang-sik called up to the ASEAN All-Stars team to play a friendly match against Manchester United but were rejected by the Malaysian Football Federation.

Another notable name on the Malaysian team list is Endrick Dos Santos. The Brazilian-born player currently plays for Ho Chi Minh City FC and is no stranger to his V.League colleagues. The naturalized Malaysian striker has played 21 matches in the V.League this season, scoring 2 goals.

Coach Peter Cklamovski has called up several naturalised and Malaysian-born players in Europe. One of them is Gabriel Palmero, who plays in the Spanish second division for Tenerife. Midfielder Stuart Wilkins, who was trained at Southampton (England), is also a formidable name.

The most notable player in the Malaysian team is midfielder Hector Hevel. This player is playing in the Portuguese championship for Portimonense, and has played for the Dutch youth teams. He just completed the procedure to change teams (due to his Malaysian origin) earlier this year to play for the Southeast Asian team.

Malaysia is considered the main opponent of the Vietnamese team in the 2027 Asian Cup qualifiers. In the first match, this team defeated Nepal with a score of 2-0 and temporarily ranked second in the group. In the upcoming first leg against the Vietnamese team, Malaysia will play at home.
