Today, November 30, in Thai Nguyen, the Central Center for Health Communication and Education under the Ministry of Health coordinated with Thai Nguyen Central Hospital, Thai Nguyen Provincial Women's Union and Vietnam Beer - Alcohol - Beverage Association to organize a "Communication workshop to provide knowledge on proactive health care for women in Thai Nguyen province".

The event gathered more than 300 women's union members and central and local press agencies.

In his speech at the workshop, Mr. Vu Manh Cuong, Director of the Central Center for Health Communication and Education, emphasized the importance of implementing Resolution No. 72-NQ/TW dated September 9, 2025 of the Politburo on a number of breakthrough solutions to strengthen the protection, care and improvement of people's health.

Accordingly, Resolution 72-NQ/TW approved by the Politburo has proposed breakthrough solutions, creating a major shift in thinking and health policies: Strongly shifting from a mindset focused on medical examination and treatment (passive health) to proactive disease prevention (preventive health) and comprehensive health care; Consolidating, perfecting and modernizing grassroots health care (commune and ward health stations) to become the "gatekeeper" in managing the health of the entire population, reducing the burden on upper levels;

Promote financial reform, sustainably develop the universal health insurance policy as a foundation, aiming for the goal of free hospital fees at a basic level for people (expected by 2030) and conduct free periodic health check-ups at least once a year (from 2026);

At the same time, the Resolution also proposes breakthrough solutions with priority and special treatment for medical staff (considering the medical profession as a special profession). Breakthrough applications of comprehensive digital transformation (such as electronic health records) and science and technology, artificial intelligence (AI) in healthcare.

Sharing information about what women need to do to proactively take care of their physical, nutritional, and mental health for themselves and their families, Mr. Vu Manh Cuong said that women need to clearly recognize their central role in building a healthy community. When women know how to proactively take care of their health, it is not only an action for themselves, but also the first step towards a healthy family and a happy society.

Taking proactive care of your health is not a choice, but the right and responsibility of every woman in the new era.

Overview of the workshop.

Speaking at the workshop, Associate Professor Dr. Nguyen Van Viet, Chairman of the Vietnam Beer - Alcohol - Beverage Association, shared that the Association always accompanies and cares about implementing programs on balanced nutrition and physical exercise, to reduce the risk of non-communicable diseases and build a healthier Vietnamese generation.

An important highlight of the workshop was the guidance for women on how to proactively manage their daily nutrition to maintain a healthy lifestyle, while spreading good habits to their families and society by Dr. Nghiem Nguyet Thu, Head of the Department of Clinical Nutrition, Institute of Nutrition - Bach Mai Hospital.

With the practical content "Proactive nutrition in daily life", Dr. Nghiem Nguyet Thu provided knowledge about health care such as: reasonable nutrition, maintaining daily physical activity, as well as how to prevent overweight and obesity; proactive nutrition is not only to prevent disease but also to live healthy, live happily and improve the quality of life. Specific advice was shared such as: eating a variety of foods, reducing salt - sugar - saturated fat, increasing green vegetables and fruits, maintaining daily physical activity so that women can apply it right at home.

At the workshop, Ms. Nguyen Thanh Hong - an expert from the Central Center for Health Education and Communication - provided practical guidance on how to read food and beverage labels.

Product ingredients, origin, use of many or few additives... are important information to understand factors that can pose health risks (contain substances that cause allergies to the individual, contain genetically modified or irradiated ingredients...).

Thereby, contributing to consumers needing to clearly understand product ingredients, nutritional value, and especially total sugar content to avoid confusion between sugar sources (such as fruit juice, milk tea) and make reasonable consumption decisions.
