According to Hai Phong Obstetrics and Gynecology Hospital, pregnant woman VTMA (24 years old, residing in Ngo Quyen district, Hai Phong) came to the hospital with pain in the lower abdomen. Doctors determined that this was a rare high-risk pregnancy, the mother was pregnant for the first time, with natural triplets, 36 weeks, one fetus was slow to develop.
After consultation, Associate Professor, Doctor, Doctor Vu Van Tam - Hospital Director decided to perform a cesarean section to ensure the safety of both mother and fetus.
The cesarean section went smoothly and successfully. Three babies (two girls and one boy) were born weighing 1.9 kg and 2.6 kg respectively. All three babies had good reflexes and were examined and monitored by the pediatrician in the operating room. The 1.9 kg baby girl showed signs of jaundice and was transferred to the hospital's Neonatal Department for monitoring.
After the surgery, the mother was conscious and transferred to the postpartum ward for monitoring and care. Currently, the mother and 3 babies are in stable health and have been discharged home.
According to pregnant woman VTMA, she and her family were very surprised to learn that she was carrying triplets. In the early stages of her pregnancy, she went to a private clinic for a check-up and learned that she was carrying twins. At the 32nd week of pregnancy, during a routine check-up, the doctors at the private clinic suspected fetal malformations when they saw the ultrasound image of three skulls. Ms. MA and her family were extremely worried about this confusing information, so they went to Hai Phong Obstetrics and Gynecology Hospital to verify the results.
At Hai Phong Obstetrics and Gynecology Hospital, after a thorough examination and ultrasound, the doctors said that Ms. MA was 32 weeks pregnant, with triplets and 3 babies developing completely normally with no signs of malformations as diagnosed by the private clinic. From the 32nd week onwards, Ms. MA monitored her pregnancy and registered to give birth at Hai Phong Obstetrics and Gynecology Hospital.
