A80 is the abbreviated name of the mission to practice and participate in the parade and march in the celebration of the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution (August 19, 1945 - August 19, 2025) and the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam (September 2, 1945 - September 2, 2025). The letter " A " represents " Anniversary ", and the number "80" represents the 80th anniversary of the founding of the country.
The 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day (September 2) is an opportunity for the army and people of the whole country to review the heroic history of the nation - when the whole nation rose up to seize power, giving birth to the Democratic Republic of Vietnam. At the same time, it honors the glorious history and great achievements after 80 years of building and defending the Fatherland. This is a national-level event, organized to pay tribute and commemorate the heroic martyrs who sacrificed for national independence. The event is also a symbol of solidarity, arousing patriotism among the people, and especially, strongly inspiring the younger generation about responsibility, ideals and aspirations to contribute to the country.
According to the tentative plan in Official Dispatch 2620/VPCP-KGVX in 2025, National Day September 2, 2025 will only organize military parades and marches. However, this is only a tentative plan, depending on the actual situation, the authorities may change the plan.

Come early to get a good spot
The A80 Parade at Ba Dinh Square is expected to attract tens of thousands of locals and tourists. To get a good viewing spot, you should arrive between 4:30 and 5:00 a.m., as the event usually starts early at around 6:30 a.m. The beautiful areas around Hung Vuong, Dien Bien Phu, and Le Hong Phong streets are usually full very early.
Know the road map and entrances
Experience of “going to the National Concert” from the A50 event in Ho Chi Minh City or the A70 event in Hanoi shows that many central routes are banned or have limited traffic. At the A80 event in Hanoi, it is expected that the areas around Ba Dinh Square will also be locked down early. You should update information regularly and choose to travel by bus, taxi, or park your car far away and walk to the ceremony area.
(*) Details of times and prohibited or restricted routes will be updated once official information is available.
Prepare well for September weather in Hanoi
The weather in Hanoi in early September is still hot, so you need to prepare carefully to avoid fatigue when standing outside for a long time. Bringing a hat or a small umbrella will help you avoid direct sunlight, while a thin jacket or sunscreen will be useful in protecting your skin. In addition, you should bring a personal water bottle to maintain your physical strength, especially if you are traveling with children or the elderly. A little snack such as bread or biscuits will also help you replenish your energy while waiting.
Bring camera equipment and spare batteries
Given the solemnity and scale of the A80 parade, you’ll definitely want to capture memorable moments. So make sure your recording devices – like your phone or camera – are fully charged before you arrive. If possible, bring a spare battery to avoid running out of power mid-flight. A camera with optical zoom will help you capture clear parade formations from a distance without having to jostle for position at the front.
Obey instructions and keep order
In a national event like A80, the authorities will strictly control to ensure absolute security and safety. When attending, you must strictly follow the instructions of the organizing committee, the police and soldiers on duty in the Square area. Avoid jostling, pushing or climbing over the fence - actions that are not only dangerous but also affect the general image of civilization.
Discover the beauty of a peaceful country after attending the “National Concert” - A80 Military Parade
After attending the A80 military parade at Ba Dinh Square, in that sacred and proud atmosphere, instead of rushing back, you should continue your journey to explore our beautiful country as a gentle way to fully feel the meaning of peace.
Because after the uniform footsteps on the square, a country is truly opening up - peaceful, quiet and breathtakingly beautiful. Not far from Hanoi, there are many destinations that possess both pristine natural beauty and deep historical depth and national spirit, very suitable to continue the emotional flow that still echoes after the A80 event.

You can start with tourist destinations right in the center of Hanoi , visit Ba Vi National Park to enjoy the fresh air among the vast forests, or go to Cao Bang , Bac Kan , Thai Nguyen , Tuyen Quang - the land associated with the resistance war, where the footprints of President Ho Chi Minh and many generations of revolutionary soldiers were left. The ancient Viet Bac forests have now become green, peaceful destinations, where you can listen to the story of the country through each stream, stilt house and the sound of the national panpipe.
You can also choose about the plains and the sea with names that cannot be missed such as:
- Ha Long Bay – natural wonder of the world
- Yen Tu - a quiet land of meditation with a journey of "returning to oneself"
- Ninh Binh – the thousand-year-old ancient capital with the heritage of Trang An, Tam Coc, Bai Dinh Pagoda
No matter which direction you choose, every trip after the A80 Parade, the 80th anniversary of the August Revolution and National Day on September 2nd, is a gentle answer to the question: "What does peace look like?"
