Ms. Ton Nu Hang - owner of Nu Hang decorative accessories shop on Nguyen Huy Tu street said: "Following this year's decoration trend, our shop has many new products with beautiful designs, making the Tet decoration market more vibrant. In addition to retailing products, we also accept making miniature landscapes at home for customers with prices ranging from 1 - 2 million VND, depending on the size and number of accessories".

Ms. Nguyen Thi Hang Nga - owner of a coffee shop on Le Duan Street (Ha Tinh City) shared: "To create a space for customers to take "check-in" photos, as soon as 2024 came, we bought items to decorate the shop space with many miniature scenes with an ancient Tet feel. Although the investment cost "increased", the shop received positive feedback and attracted many new customers."

According to business owners, this year, with the trend of decorating miniature landscapes to recall the old Tet, handmade products in traditional style are favored by customers. Items such as hanging ropes, large hanging frames, paper fans, painted bamboo trays, carrying poles, fishing nets, bamboo blinds, parallel sentences with calligraphy... are "hot" items.

Mr. Le Van Quy - owner of Ngoc Quy bookstore (Dang Dung street) said: "We started importing and selling Tet decoration products for about a month now with products such as paper fans, hanging strings, fake Chung cakes, fake Tay cakes, lanterns, gift basket accessory sets, apricot blossom branches, peach blossoms, fake pomegranate branches... Tet decoration trends are increasingly diverse, so most products have been improved in terms of design and materials with many price ranges, meeting market demand."

Nguyen Chi Thanh Electrical Appliances Street is more sparkling in the colors of decorative lights during the days before Tet.

According to retailers, because the product is seasonal, customers mainly choose products with moderate prices, so sellers must find new items that keep up with decoration trends and are affordable.

According to the market, the prices of products such as peach blossom hanging strings, large hanging strings with the words "Happy New Year", "Everything goes as you wish", paper fans, fake firecracker strings, parallel sentences, accessories for miniature landscapes to decorate check-in corners, flashing lights, lanterns... range from tens of thousands of VND to hundreds of thousands of VND, depending on the type of product and size.

Retailers also import a variety of decorative artificial flowers made from silk, fabric, and rubber, with prices ranging from 200,000 VND to millions of VND per vase.

Mr. Nguyen Ba Duc accepts making Tet decoration accessories for customers according to requested sizes.

Although goods are abundant, diverse in designs and styles, and prices are also at an average level, according to shop owners, consumption is still quite slow, not as crowded as the same period last year.

Mr. Nguyen Ba Duc - owner of Bao Khanh children's toy and decorative accessories store (Phan Dinh Phung street) said: "We started selling Tet decorations from the beginning of the 12th lunar month. In addition to hanging string products and lanterns, the shop also makes fan-shaped and circular paper products by hand. Along with available models, we also accept orders according to customer's requested sizes. However, up to this point, consumption is still quite slow, on average the store sells 5-7 products per day. Most of the customers are still schools, shops, and businesses."

Ms. Nguyen Thi Xuan - an employee at a decorative artificial flower stall at Ha Tinh City Market said: "We sell many types of flowers such as roses, orchids, peonies, peach blossoms... with many different sizes of large and small vases, diversifying the choices for customers. The purchasing power at this time has increased compared to previous days, but compared to the Tet market in previous years, it is only about 50%."

Although purchasing power is currently slow, traders said they still expect the number of customers to increase sharply and the market to be more vibrant next week because many people are in the mood to shop and decorate their homes near Tet.
