Conflict with wife then brutally slashed ferry staff in An Giang

(NLDO) - The entire incident that happened at the ferry terminal in An Giang was captured on camera by locals and posted on social media.

On the evening of March 17, the Criminal Police Department of An Giang Province Police issued a decision to temporarily detain Tran Anh Tuan (born 2001; residing in My Phuoc Ward, Long Xuyen City, An Giang Province) to continue investigating the act of "Murder".

Tuan is the suspect who used a homemade knife to brutally slash Mr. Lam Van Ut (born in 1974, a ferry ticket inspector of An Giang Ferry Joint Stock Company).

According to initial information, at around 6 p.m. on March 16, Tuan drove his motorbike to his wife’s parents’ house in Long Xuyen City to pick up his wife and child. However, due to a conflict between the couple, Tuan took his child home alone.

When arriving at Tra On ferry terminal (in My Hoa Hung commune, Long Xuyen city), Tuan did not buy a ferry ticket so Mr. Ut did not let him go. However, Tuan still accelerated and ran off to the ferry, but was scolded by Mr. Ut. At this time, Tuan was angry and had the intention to beat Mr. Ut.

After that, Tuan went home to get a homemade knife and returned to Tra On ferry to find Mr. Ut to slash him. When he got there, Tuan pulled out a knife and slashed Mr. Ut.

Mr. Ut ran away but was chased by Tuan and slashed many times. After committing the crime, Tuan drove his motorbike to a relative's house, parked it and threw the knife into the pond behind the house, and threw his clothes into the Hau River. At around 10 p.m. the same day, Tuan asked his uncle to take him to Tra On ferry and called his biological mother to come and pick him up.

Upon receiving the report, the Criminal Police Department of An Giang Province Police quickly arrived at the scene, investigated and identified Tuan as a suspect, so they brought him to the headquarters for questioning.

Meanwhile, Mr. Ut was taken to the emergency room in critical condition. According to the injury assessment at An Giang Central General Hospital, Mr. Ut suffered injuries to his right hand, left wrist, shoulder, and skull fracture...
