Former President Donald Trump and Vice President Kamala Harris are entering the final stretch of the race before Election Day. Both Trump and Harris are still campaigning hard in the Sun Belt states of the United States, even on weekends.
An interesting moment happened at Charlotte Douglas Airport in North Carolina on November 2 (US time), when Mr. Trump and Ms. Harris' planes met on the runway. Ms. Harris arrived as Mr. Trump was about to leave, showing the fierce competition between the two opponents.
Neither wants to waste time or miss any last chance to change the minds of voters who have not yet cast their ballots before November 5.
Mr. Trump is confident of victory
"We have survived every attack, every abuse, even two assassination attempts," Trump said at a rally in Gastonia, North Carolina. "And now it all depends on this," he said, referring to the decision of undecided voters and turnout on November 5.
The former president then traveled to Virginia, which is not considered a battleground state, where he delivered a similar message, telling his supporters that he could not lose and was on track for "the greatest political victory in American history."
He confidently predicted that he would win not only the electoral college but also the popular vote nationwide. In both the previous elections in 2016 and 2020, Mr. Trump did not win the most popular votes.

“We are going to win the popular vote,” Mr Trump told a crowd in Virginia.
"I think we have a really good chance of winning the popular vote," the former president said optimistically.
Ms. Harris: We will win

The current vice president flew to Atlanta, Georgia, and ended November 2 with a campaign rally in North Carolina.
In an interview with CNN before the Atlanta rally, Harris emphasized that her campaign is still trying to reach every voter before Election Day. "I intend to be a president for all Americans. I'm working hard to win the vote of all Americans regardless of their gender, race or geographic location," she said.
The Democratic candidate also called the upcoming election "one of the most important, if not the most important, elections in every person's lifetime."
Highlighting the difference between her campaign and Mr Trump's, Ms Harris asserted that as president she would "work for the American people", while Mr Trump would "only think of himself" in the Oval Office.
"Unlike Donald Trump, I do not believe that people who disagree with me are the enemy," Harris said later to a crowd of supporters in Atlanta.
"He wants to put them in jail, I'll give them a job. That's what real leaders do. That's what strong leaders do," she added.

She then took aim at her opponent in North Carolina, reiterating her view that Mr Trump was focused on his "enemies list" while she focused on her "to-do list".
“This is not a person who is thinking about how to make people’s lives better. This is just a person who is increasingly unstable, obsessed with revenge, with grievances, and is seeking unchecked power,” Ms. Harris argued, an argument she has made at previous rallies.
The rally was interrupted when some people protested against Ms Harris, prompting the crowd of supporters of the vice president to shout back in response.
“It’s okay, folks,” Harris said. “Democracy can be complicated. This is what democracy looks like.”
"We all want the war in the Middle East to end. We all want the hostages to come home, and when I become president, I will do everything in my power to make that happen," she asserted.
