The terrible situation happened on a transatlantic flight from Atlanta (USA) to Barcelona (Spain) on September 1.
Flight DL194 departed Georgia as scheduled at 8:47 p.m. on September 1. However, about two hours later, the pilot of the Airbus A350 requested to return.
The air traffic control recording shows one of the pilots confirming the situation over the radio. The pilot told air traffic control: "This is a biohazard issue. We have a passenger who has had diarrhea throughout the flight and they want to return to Atlanta."
The identity of the passenger with diarrhea has not been released.

Several people who knew about the incident posted on social media. One person said the flight was pretty bad. The crew had to use disinfectant because the plane "smelled terrible."
The Daily Mail quoted another passenger on the Airbus A350: "Both my wife and I were on the flight. It was a mess. The pilots made the right decision to turn the plane around."
The New York Post, citing data from Flight Radar 24, said the passengers and crew arrived in Barcelona at 5:10 p.m. on September 4, eight hours later than scheduled. It is unclear whether the sick passenger was on the plane when it landed in Spain.
Shortly after, Delta officials confirmed that there was a “ medical issue” on the plane that forced it to make an emergency landing. They sent the plane to Atlanta for cleaning. However, the airline did not specify what the medical reason was.
"We worked as quickly and safely as possible to thoroughly sanitize the aircraft and get our passengers to their destination. We sincerely apologize to our customers for any delays and inconveniences," a Delta spokesperson said.
According to the New York Post , Delta has been having trouble with its flights for the past week. Another Delta plane en route to Milan, Italy, was forced to divert to Hartsfield-Jackson Atlanta International Airport on August 29 due to turbulence, injuring 11 passengers.
