Upon receiving the news, the town police asked local authorities to monitor and search for B.
At 6:40 p.m. the same day, Hoa Hiep Nam Ward Police (Dong Hoa Town) discovered B. riding a bicycle on National Highway 29, about 10km from home.
According to Dong Hoa Town Police, through working with Ms. Tuyet and B., it was learned that because B.'s mother worked far away and could not return home for Tet, not seeing her for a long time made him miss her.
"Before leaving, B. confided to his grandmother that he missed his mother. Then, he quietly took his bicycle and headed south to find Binh Duong province - about 400km from home - where B.'s mother was working," said Mr. Quang.
