Mercedes-Benz G-Class Stronger Than the 1980s launched, over 11.5 billion VND

Mercedes-Benz Thailand has just launched the G450d Edition STRONGER THAN THE 1980s, a global limited edition of only 460 units, priced at 14,180,000 Baht (over 11.5 billion VND).

The Mercedes-Benz G450d STRONGER THAN THE 1980s is a special edition that pays tribute to the legendary G-Class W460 of the 1980s, with many design details reminiscent of the original SUV, combined with modern technology and powerful performance.

In terms of dimensions, the G450d SUV is 4,825 mm long, 1,984 mm wide and 1,976 mm high, with a wheelbase of 2,890 mm. Ground clearance reaches 250 mm and wading ability is up to 850 mm.

The Mercedes-Benz G450d STRONGER THAN THE 1980s weighs 2,555 kg and is equipped with a 100-liter fuel tank. The luggage compartment is flexible with a volume of 640 to 2,010 liters when the rear seats are folded.

The exterior of the car stands out with a set of 18-inch 5-spoke wheels, with 265/60 R18 all-terrain tires. The exclusive MANUFAKTUR equipment package includes: front/rear bumpers, side mirrors, wheel arch covers painted in Night Black Magno; classic orange turn signals; 80s-style Mercedes-Benz badge; PROFESSIONAL front and rear fenders.

The interior is nostalgic, with leather seats and Dove Grey/Black striped fabric. The trim uses open-pore burnt black Ash wood.

The center console features a “1 of 460” badge, marking the limited edition model. The passenger-side dashboard handle also features the words “STRONGER THAN THE 1980s.”

A Nappa leather steering wheel, a sunroof and a Burmester 3D surround sound system are standard, along with a factory serial number engraved on the centre console.

Finally, Mercedes-Benz embossed the Schöckl Mountains on the illuminated door sills and the unique “Schöckl Proved” logo painted in the same color as the body. This is the legendary testing ground of the G-Class.

In particular, the rear of the car is equipped with a spare tire cover engraved with the words STRONGER THAN THE 1980s, the MANUFAKTUR logo appears on many details such as the door handles, side lights and Schöckl front door sill.

The car is available with two options of the standard G-Class's 3.0L, turbocharged inline-6 ​​engine. The G450d produces a maximum capacity of 367 horsepower and a maximum torque of 750 Nm, so it can accelerate from 0-100 km/h in 5.8 seconds. The corresponding figures for the G500 are 449 horsepower and 560 Nm, allowing the car to reach 100 km/h from a standstill in 5.4 seconds.

Both versions are equipped with 48V mild hybrid technology, adding 20 horsepower and 200 Nm. Finally, there is a 9G-Tronic 9-speed automatic transmission, full-time 4-wheel drive, a transfer case with low-speed mode and three mechanical differential locks (center, front, rear).

In the Thai market, only 3 Mercedes-Benz G450d STRONGER THAN THE 1980s are allocated. Each has an exclusive exterior paint color, with a published price of 14,180,000 Baht (equivalent to more than 11.5 billion VND). In Thailand, Mercedes-Benz only distributes three versions with separate exterior paint colors: Agave Green Non-Metallic; Colorado Beige Non-Metallic; Cream White Non-Metallic.
