On the morning of May 1, Inter Miami had a disappointing match when they lost 1-3 to Vancouver Whitecaps in the second leg of the Concacaf Champions 2025 semi-finals. As a result, Messi and his teammates were eliminated with a total score of 1-5 after 2 matches.

In the 71st minute, Sebastian Berhalter completed a brilliant day of competition with a beautiful long-range shot, sealing a 3-1 victory for Vancouver. The aggregate score after two matches was 5-1 in favor of the Canadian team.
