The National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting said that last night and this morning (October 20), the area from Quang Tri to Da Nang City, the coastal area from Quang Ngai to Dak Lak will have moderate rain, heavy rain and thunderstorms, and some places will have very heavy rain.

Rainfall from 7pm yesterday to this morning in some places was over 130mm such as: Bach Ma National Park station (Hue City) 132.8mm, Pho Phong station (Quang Ngai) 253.4mm, An Quang station ( Gia Lai ) 242.8mm...

Forecast for the day and night of October 20, Ha Tinh to Da Nang city, coastal areas from Quang Ngai to Dak Lak will continue to have moderate rain and scattered thunderstorms with rainfall of 20-50mm, some places will have heavy rain over 100mm. Warning of risk of rain with intensity greater than 80mm/3 hours.

In the evening and night of October 20, in the Southern region, there will be scattered showers and thunderstorms with rainfall of 10-30mm, with some places experiencing heavy rain of over 70mm. During thunderstorms, there is a possibility of tornadoes, lightning, hail and strong gusts of wind.

In addition, from October 22 to 27, the area from Ha Tinh to Quang Ngai is likely to have widespread heavy rain, lasting for many days, with some areas having very heavy rain.

There is a high risk of flash floods and landslides in mountainous areas, flooding in low-lying areas and urban areas. Localities need to pay attention to the safe operation of hydroelectric and irrigation reservoirs before, during and after the storm, and prepare response plans for flood scenarios on rivers from Quang Tri to Quang Ngai that may reach and exceed alert level 3.
