On the evening of October 29th, a 7-meter-diameter "miniature Earth" model was suspended in Lac Long Quan flower garden (near the intersection of Lac Long Quan and Nguyen Hoang Ton streets), attracting a large crowd of people to see it. This is a globe model called Gaia, using 120dpi images of the Earth's surface from NASA, offering a unique visual experience that allows the public to appreciate the beauty of the planet. Previously, the model was introduced on the campus of the United Nations International School (UNIS) from October 6-25.
Many young people, upon hearing about it, rushed here to take commemorative photos. Many families from nearby neighborhoods came here to check in right after dinner. Gaia is inspired by the "Overview Effect"—a concept coined by researcher Frank White in 1987, describing the special feeling astronauts experience when they first see Earth from space. The Gaia model exhibition is taking place in Hanoi from October 28th to November 1st. This is a meaningful activity, spreading the message of environmental protection and raising awareness about preserving the green planet. According to the plan, "Earth" will be exhibited in several countries throughout 2025, including Slovenia, Germany, the UK, Sweden, France, and Vietnam.
