From the nursery model

Women's Union of Hung Hoa commune launched a tree planting campaign to celebrate President Ho Chi Minh's birthday and respond to Project 02.

Talking to us, Ms. Pham Thi Hai, President of the Women's Union of Hung Hoa commune said: "Implementing Project 02, the Women's Union of Bau Bang district has directed the Union's grassroots units to implement the model of "Union's Nursery" and has received enthusiastic response from all levels of the Union. It can be said that this is a creative activity, helping grassroots units to be self-sufficient in plant varieties when building flower roads, contributing to reducing the cost of buying seedlings. In addition, the activity also promotes extensive propaganda among cadres and members of the Women's Union of the commune about the purpose, meaning and benefits of planting trees."

Up to now, the whole district has had 7 nursery models managed by the Women's Union, attracting nearly 200 members to participate, with a total area of ​​about 400m² and nearly 2,000 seedlings planted. During the year, the Women's Union at all levels planted 8 new flower routes, 2,400m long, bringing the total number of flower routes managed by the Union to 36 with a total length of 11,750m.

All aim to create the image of a modern woman who is responsible for the community and the living environment. The implementation of the "Association's Nursery" model also aims to save costs on buying trees, contributing to building green areas for the Union and the locality. However, for the model to be effective, it is necessary to have the consensus of the people and local authorities to join hands to preserve, care for and maintain the model. From there, it will help localities become increasingly greener, cleaner and more beautiful."

To the core of building a cultural lifestyle

In addition to implementing the model of "Association Nursery" and "Flower Road", the Women's Union of Bau Bang district has also launched many other meaningful projects and models such as: Project "Giving nutrients - receiving green areas", the Union has mobilized to donate 3 tons of fertilizer and distributed it to the Women's Unions of communes and towns to take care of and plant new flower roads in the area. Or we can mention the model "Scrap collection team at the branch".

Accordingly, the district has launched 2 scrap collection teams at the "Nguyen Du" Women's Youth Workers Association (Hung Hoa commune) and the Plastic Waste Collection Model (Long Nguyen commune). Through the model, the aim is to raise funds, help and support women and children in difficult circumstances and join hands to reduce plastic waste, protect the green, clean and beautiful environment. In 2024 alone, this model supported 27 difficult cases with an amount of 13.5 million VND, and donated nearly 5 million VND to the "Phap Tam" zero-cost kitchen...

To effectively implement Project 02, in the coming time, Women's Unions at all levels in Bau Bang district will continue to carry out many meaningful and practical activities, creating strong changes in the awareness and actions of members, women and people of all walks of life, forming habits and awareness of building cultural and civilized behaviors and lifestyles; building "green - clean - beautiful" roads, contributing to creating increasingly green, clean, civilized and modern landscapes, streets and appearance of the district.

To effectively implement the criteria of Project 02, the District Women's Union also coordinated with the District Department of Culture - Science - Information to organize a Conference on family work deployment, the Bau Bang District Outstanding Cultural Family Contest in 2024 with the theme "Happy Family - Prosperous Nation" to raise public awareness of the role and significance of family for each person and the responsibility of each individual, family, and community in building a prosperous, equal, progressive, and happy family; honoring the traditional cultural values ​​of Vietnamese families.

The Association also organizes creative competitions such as: "Beautiful Flower Road" contest, "Producing environmentally friendly recycled products" video clip contest, "PN learns about the environment" online contest with the theme "Soil restoration, drought and desertification prevention"... These activities not only attract a large number of members but also spread widely to the community.
