The price of this type at major brands such as Phu Nhuan Jewelry Company (PNJ) and Bao Tin Minh Chau has also increased accordingly. The difference between buying and selling remains at 2 million VND per tael.
Plain gold rings at SJC also increased to 113 - 115.5 million VND per tael, an increase of 500,000 VND per tael compared to the morning. PNJ listed plain rings at 113 - 115.5 million VND. At Bao Tin Minh Chau, this type of gold is bought and sold at a higher price than the average, around 116 - 119 million VND per tael.
On the international market, at 2 p.m. Hanoi time, the spot gold price also reversed and increased by 50 USD per ounce to 3,260 USD per ounce. Converted according to Vietcombank's selling rate, world gold is equivalent to 102.7 million VND per tael. Accordingly, the domestic gold bar price is nearly 18 million VND per tael higher than the world price, while the difference in the price of plain gold rings fluctuates between 13 and 16 million VND.
The difference between domestic and world gold prices has increased in the past 1.5 months as the world continuously set new records.
In a report to the National Assembly for questioning, the State Bank also said that the supply of gold bars on the market has not increased since the beginning of the year. Accordingly, in the first months of the year, this agency stopped selling gold bars to 4 state-owned banks and SJC as before.
